Miroku stood alone at the edge of a clearing. That is, at least, until Sango came up behind him. She stopped next to him and sat down, motioning for him to do the same thing. He looked at her curiously, but then obliged.

"So what brings you out here?" she asked.

"Oh, not much. Just needed some alone time," he replied off handedly.

"Really? Alone time from what, if you don't mind me asking?" she asked.

"Just thinking really. Gotta come up with new ways to ask you if you would bear my children."

She was silent for a moment. "You don't have to ask," she said after a time.

"W-what was that Sango?" he asked not really believing his ears.

"You don't have to ask. Nothing would make me happier than bearing your children," she said smiling. She looked into his eyes and kissed him. It was a deep passionate kiss filled with...

Nothing.

Because Miroku had just woken up from the best dream of his life.

"So close! Oh well. Should have known it was a dream from the start," he chided himself.

He got up from his bed with a sigh and walked outside with the intention of getting some fresh air. He saw Sango sitting on top of a large boulder and decided that he would sit with her.

He approached her and sat down next to her. "So what brings you out here this late at night?" he asked.

"Just wanted to think. And you?" she asked in return.

"A dream woke me. I decided to get some fresh air before going back to sleep."

"Would you like to tell me about it? Your dream I mean."

"Okay then," this ought to be interesting. "I was standing alone at the edge of a clearing when you came up to me and asked me to sit with you. We began a conversation, much like the one we were having. Then you told me that you wanted to bear my children. Then you started kissing me." He half expected to get slapped upside the head, but she was merely silent, as if pondering the meaning of the dream.

"I kissed you, huh?" she asked and he nodded. "You mean like this?" she said leaning forward and kissing him right on the mouth. She closed her eyes as he kissed back.

But they soon snapped open and she was screaming bloody murder. That had to be the absolute worst nightmare she had ever experienced in her life. She guessed she was lucky that Inuyasha and Kagome were back in the future, and that Miroku, and Shippo slept like rocks, or other wise they would all be in here and she really didn't want to tell them about her nightmare. Kirara just looked up from where she was curled in a ball around Sango's Hiraikotsu before going back to sleep. Sighing she laid back down and tried to go back to sleep. Unfortunately after that, sleep was the farthest thing from her mind.
