Lana returned home smiling ear to ear, She felt like she was floating on
air. She and Clark had finally come to their senses and decided to be more
than friends. Lana was on cloud 9, but her happiness was interrupted when
she saw Chloe Sullivan, sitting on the couch crying.
"Chloe?" Lana said softly
Chloe jumped up in shock, she turned around and saw Lana.
"Chloe, are you.. OK?" Lana asked
Chloe wiped her eyes "I'm fine"
"No, you aren't. Chloe, I live with you, I know when you're not all right" Then it hit her, like a ton of bricks "Chloe" she asked "Where were you last night"
Chloe said nothing, Lana knew that Chloe knew about her and Clark.
"Chloe, oh God, you saw Clark and I didn't you?"
Chloe nodded. Lana sat down next to her.
"Chloe, I'm so happy with him"
A tear poured down Chloe's cheek. Lana's eyes misted up too.
"But.. I know that you like him too, Chloe, this is so hard"
Chloe stopped Lana with her hand.
"Wait a minute, Lana. Listen, I have been crying and thinking for the last hour and I finally realized that you are the one he is in love with.. I see him, I see him when he is with you. I can see how much he is in love with you"
Lana wiped her eye before the tear could get out. Chloe continued, wiping her eyes too.
"I see you with him, I've never seen you look any happier than when you are with Clark... As much as I like him, and as much as I deny it, will always like him. I just have to stop being stupid and finally realize you are the one for him"
Lana smiled. "Are you sure, Chloe? You are better than a sister to me, I care so much about you and if dating Clark would make you unhappy then i.."
"No" Chloe said firmly "No, Lana, As much as it hurts, I'm letting Clark go, I'm letting him go for good, forever. He's yours Lana"
"I have your blessing"
Chloe giggled "You have my blessing"
Lana started to cry out of pure happiness and relief "h God, Chloe, You have no idea how much this means to me, such a relief.. Thank you"
Chloe smiled "Okay, Lana, don't get all Dawson's Creek on us here"
Lana smiled "You'll fine someone even better than Clark, You'll find someone amazing, I swear to you"
Chloe laughed "God, I hope so.. By the way, you and Clark look adorable together"
Lana laughed and hugged Chloe. "You are the absolute best" She whispered "You're going to find someone who will treat you amazing"
Chloe hugged Lana back. She felt stronger, wiser. Sure, she hadn't given up Clark for good; she's secretly always like him. but she had gotten over him.
"Hey Laverne and Shirley, am I interrupting a moment here?"
Chloe and Lana broke apart and saw Chloe's father they both groaned dramatically.
"Do you have to call us the names of washed up TV characters?" Chloe asked
Gabe smiled "You should be happy I don't call you guys Lucy and Ethel anymore"
Lana rolled her eyes.
"Well, I'll leave you two to talk" Gabe laughed and walked away.
Chloe and Lana looked at each other and laughed. They wiped their tear stained eyes in unison.
"Well I have to go to bed," Lana said getting up.
"Yeah, me too" Chloe got up too
Chloe and Lana both walked back to their rooms. Before Lana went into her room, Chloe turned to her.
"Oh, and Lana?"
"Hmmm?"
"Try not to get frustrated with his secrets"
Lana smiled and nodded "We'll work around those."
"Chloe?" Lana said softly
Chloe jumped up in shock, she turned around and saw Lana.
"Chloe, are you.. OK?" Lana asked
Chloe wiped her eyes "I'm fine"
