First Snow
It was a cold, rainy, overcast day on earth. Seth and Sara secretly hoped to see what earthlings call snow. Ever since Jack and Alex described it to them as "a fluffy, wet, white powder like substance which covers everything you can see when it is cold outside" they had been itching to see it with their own two eyes. To Seth and Sara it was cold and wet outside, but they could not find the white power like substance anywhere. In all honesty the two aliens were saddened by the lack of snow even though Jack promised it would snow before they returned home again. Wishing for snow all day had taken a toll on the aliens, and they retired to their rooms early.
Sara woke up suddenly and turned to her clock. It was a quarter past seven earth time. She felt out for Seth's mind only to find him sound asleep. Deciding she could sleep no longer, Sara got up and went downstairs to make breakfast. Alex had taught her how to make many earth foods, including pancakes and Sara thought it would be kind to make breakfast for everyone. Not wanting to turn on the lights, Sara walked over to the blinds to open them. She had trouble twisting them at first, but when she finally opened them a white world filled her mind. Snow. With that thought she squealed with delight and ran out the back door, still in her pajamas.
Seth woke up to a scream around eight in the morning. Shooting up out of bed he phased thorough the walls of Jack and Alex's house towards Sara's room. To his surprise she was nowhere to be found. Now aware that something abnormal was happening he slowly tiptoed down the stairs towards the kitchen. He smelt something burning. Seth ran into the kitchen to find pancakes in flames on the stove along with a small stack of perfectly cooked ones on a plate to the side. After putting out the fire he resumed the search for his sister, when he saw the back door wide open. He cautiously approached it, remembering his time at Witch Mountain shortly over two years ago. What he saw blew his mind. Everything was white. From the trees, to the ground, to the roads, the white powers covered everything. It must be snow and with that Seth too ventured out into the winter wonder land.
Sara felt Seth before she saw him. His mind was easy for her to pick out, it was very familiar to her and it provided her with a sense of security. He felt calm, like he usually did in the morning, but he was extremely excited at the same time. Sara let her senses of Seth's mind lead her to his physical body. She found him rolling in a large snow drift, laughing. She sat down next to him and attempted to make what Jack had called a snow angel. Moving her arms back and forth she felt stupid, but when Seth helped her up she knew her efforts were worthwhile. It was a beautiful angel; it looked perfect in the drift, like it belonged. As the adrenalin rushes the snow gave them began to fade away, the two teens grew cold. They decided to head back to Jack and Alex's house to find some warmer clothes.
"How did you like it," Jack asked as Seth and Sara ventured back into the warm his house offered.
"It was unlike anything we had seen before Jack Bruno," Sara replied for the both of them.
"I'm glad you two enjoyed it. Next time please tell me where you're going. And turn off the stove. And close the door."
"Sorry" Sara replied giggling, "I was so excited I guess I forgot!"
R&R Please!
