Tracey bit her lip nervously as she glanced nervously over at her office door once again. Kelly was running late. At least Tracey thought her girlfriend was running late. She could not remember if they were meeting at one or one thirty to discuss their case. Kelly could very well be perfectly on schedule, but with Tracey's anticipation of wanting to see her, it felt like the other ADA was tardy.

The door opened quickly, and Kelly appeared suddenly. The light from behind the door seemed to hit her at just the right angle. It radiated from around Kelly's body as if Kelly was an angel or a goddess.

"Sorry I'm late," Kelly began as she closed the door slightly. "Ballistics kept me a little longer than I would have preferred, but it was for a good cause. The bullet was a match to the gun with Pat Gallagher's fingerprints all over it. Only problem is that I talked to Salazar, and apparently Pat has an airtight alibi."

If Tracey was even listening to her partner, she showed no signs of it. Instead she was looking at her. Kelly's white sweater clung to her body. It accented her chest, much to Tracey's approval. Her black pants complemented the outfit perfectly. Tracey's gaze wondered down Kelly's figure as Kelly continued talking into more detail about the homicide they were prosecuting.

"Are you even listening to me?" Kelly asked finally as she waved her hand out in front of Tracey.

The elder ADA snapped out of her trance. "What?" she asked in apparent embarrassment. She quickly regained her composure and proceeded with the conversation to the best of her ability. "Look, Kelly, I've got to be honest with you," Tracey began.

"You weren't listening to a word I just said," Kelly noted with a sigh as she sat down in the chair across from Tracey's. She raised a knowing eyebrow at her girlfriend.

"Guilty," Tracey responded with a sheepish expression on her face. "But that wasn't what I was going to say."

"Oh?" Kelly asked, intrigued.

Tracey nodded as she joined her hands with Kelly's. Her deep brown eyes were filled with passion and sincerity as she spoke her next words. She chose them carefully, but they seemed to come naturally. "Kelly, we've known each other for a while now, and in that time I've realized that you're perhaps the best person I will ever have the pleasure of knowing. You're sweet, you make me laugh, you make me feel good at even the worst of days, which given this job can be more often than I would like.

"I think about you every day. Every minute of every day when you're not with me I'm wondering what you're doing. Maybe it's one if the side effects of doing what we do for a living, but I think it's more than that." Tracey smiled again as she gazed over at Kelly.

Kelly's ears were a light shade of red from Tracey's words, but her face showed that she was happy nonetheless. Her smile could not be contained, and she leaned over and wrapped her arms around Tracey's thin body.

"I love you, Kelly."
