"DARK PRINCE" Inspired
PHANTOM OF THE OPERA POEM
Written by Erik, the Dark Prince in honor of his lady love, Christine.
I would like to dedicate this poem to DonJuanTriumphs' "Dark Prince".
I was inspired to post this poem while reading that story.
Honestly, I hadn't thought of it in years ...
true enchantmentor
my tormentor
oh!
wondrous sweetness of the night
plucking mine eyes
taking all sight
oh!
gentle warrior
only the killing tells
just how far the funeral bell
true enchantmentor
my tormentor
with heartfelt pity
she binds the blind
bleeding voids
and offering a hand to me
leads me into the past
beyond regions of despair
on into the night
that vast unknowable bliss
oh!
home at last
that place
deemed hell
i stand doomed by fate
forthwith to dwell
am sentenced now
and rightly earned
to forever know
passionate lust's scourge
oh!
how it does burn
these stinging lashes
each bleeding bite
are gratefully borne
as my soul's great delight
each hollow word
each lonely verse
heard on the wind
carried in the night
before burning away in the light
oh!
another lonely song is sung
this lowly man comes undone
are her tears of pain
falling on my behalf
or am i the cause
oh!
at last
mine longing heart may die
yet prior to its last sobbing sigh
i beg a boon of thee
mayhap one day i may hear
my name sound from her lips
or for her to utter a prayer for me
not thee
oh!
she holds my heart
now bared and barren
and sees it
shown as fractured
split
splintered
never whole or wholesome
and at its core most rotten
i play out my final role
oh!
so here stand i
within the night
tingling in anticipation
before her might
and
striking the gentle blow is she
oh!
true enchantmentor
my tormentor
she strikes
not my head from its body
but
mine heart
from
its lies
