A quick little fiction thing based on the line 'Have you ever hated yourself for staring at the phone?'

Temperance Brennan was sat on her sofa in her living room. It was two in the morning.

She was awaiting a phone call.

A phone call that she knew would never come.

A phone call from a very special, Agent Seeley Booth.

He had been announced dead that day.

He had jumped in front of a bullet in order to save her life, he had believed that his life was worth less than hers.

She hated herself for that.

And even more she hated herself for waiting for his phone call, when she knew he would never call.

She loved him so much, but she would never be able to tell him.

And it was her fault, she killed him, well, that's what she believed

She sat there by the phone, and waited for his call.

The call that would never come.
