A/N: This has been lurking in my folder for almost a year and I thought it was time I uploaded it. This is unbetad so all mistakes belong to me. The Song is Evermores 'Are you Satisfied??'
Disclaimer: I don't own Bones alright.
I left home today, feeling alright (I never knew, I never knew)
I left home today, feeling ok (I never knew, I never knew)
Like beauty in the dust (My position, my position)
Like youthfulness intense, burning down to rust
Temperance Brennan Forensic Anthropologist and acclaimed author were sitting on her bed watching the rain fall down on the window outside. She had left home today to go to court and give evidence on a case her and Booth had just closed she had just dropped into the lab to get her notes when it all came tumbling down.
If we've come to a conclusion
We've got a long, long way to go
What would you do in my position? (My position, my position)
Girl, I'd really like to know
The remains of her mother were lying on a cold sterile lab table as protégé Zack Addy looked over them. She only found out as she walked past Angela's office and saw the reconstruction on the Angelator. Booth asked her if she wanted an investigation into her mother's death it would be long and painful to find out what had happened to her parents but she wanted to find out what had made them disappear
(Whoa)
Was there more there of your touch?
Was there more then fear?
It's over now I hope you're satisfied
It's over now I hope you're satisfied
The investigation was over and what had happened was out. Her parents were criminals and her name was all a lie. Books and papers glared at her from all over her room 'Dr. Temperance Brennan' was written all over them along with her diplomas but it was all a sham her name was Joy Keenan. Booth had found her brother Russ and had found out who killed her mother but her father was still Missing and she wasn't satisfied completely yet.
Is there any indecision?
Is there something I can say?
There must be some solution (My position, my position)
There must be some mistake
He told her not to look for him but that only made her want to find him more she wouldn't be truly satisfied until he was found and he explained to her why they left her and her brother at such an important time in their lives.
(Whoa)
Was there more there of your touch?
Was there more then fear?
It's over now I hope you're satisfied
It's over now I hope you're satisfied
It's over now I hope you're satisfied
It's over now I hope you're satisfied
The search for her mother had ended but the search for her father had just begun. She knew that he was out their somewhere and she planned to find him even if it took her another 20 years. He couldn't leave again now with so many other questions she had only just begun to think about.
Don't walk away, you're holding me down
Holding me back, you're holding me here
Nothing to say, pushed to the floor
Now it's too late, I'm closing the door
The disappearance of her parents had always been a weight on her shoulders; it held her down when it came to trusting people. She was always afraid they where going to get up and leave just like her parents did. Her father had nothing to say to her except that she wasn't to look for him. She knew that a time would come where she would shut the file on her parent's case but it wasn't that time yet.
It's all I can give...It's all I can take
It's all I can give...It's all I can take
She would do everything she could to find them and she knew that her 'family' would do everything they could to help her.
