MODERN DAY MADNESS - PHANTOM OF THE OPERA
A Poem Dedicated to Christine from her poor, poor Erik
(as he rides his morphine pony.)
mainlining lust – mainlining love
two hearts crescendo
racing towards climax
studied dissonance without a moment's notice
waiting
by the phone
mainlining love – mainlining lust
thrusting to a halt
while quickening clashes – crashes
dark pathways of fate segregate and procreate
watching
by the fire
mainlining lust – mainlining love
chasms consumed briefly
tender caresses twist passionate
insight flies shrieking as phoenix streaks blinding
wandering
by the door
mainlining love – mainlining lust
fiendish kaleidoscopic galleries
bloated faces hanged – framed in midair
dimensions shown as delusions alone unknown
wanting
by the bed
mainlining lust – mainlining love
shattered souls mirrored
reflected memories of pain long ago
wrecking and cutting still stabbing through today
wondering
by the grave
mainlining love – mainlining lust
long shuttered days pass
black glistening gleaming nights advance
crystalline caverns stealing longing lonely alone
wishing
by the bye
mainlining lust – mainlining love

DISCLAIMER: I make no claim of ownership to POTO ... the above poem while written prior to my interest in POTO seemed appropriate to one of Erik's darker moods, so I thought I'd share. Cheers!
