JAMIE
AUTHOR'S NOTE
This was just an idea that came to me. This is just a bunch of musings. I don't don't own Jamie Waites or anybody else associated with In A Heartbeat. That honor goes to the Disney Channel. This is written from Jamie's point of view. I plan on writing a story in the third person about Jamie's past.
INTRODUCTION
To some, he was the rebel. To others, he was a loyal friend and dedicated EMT. Just who is Jamie Waites?
My name is Jamie Waites. Who am I? You know, that's just what I've been asking myself lately. The truth is, I'm pretty confused about that right now. To some I'm just the messed up kid on the verge of trouble, wild, rebellious, a bad boy. To others, I'm a friend and a darn good EMT, someone they can count on. Rebel Boy and EMT Savior. I've been pretty torn up between the two. Yeah, I don't really follow the "rules" of the Kingston high school society, I'm not popular or athletic, but I'm not all that bad. It's not like I smoke or do drugs or anything stupid like that. Yeah, I stole that guitar pick, but...I didn't have the money to pay for it. I don't have money for a lot of things. In fact, I have to rely on my aunt and uncle just to make repairs on my bike. I would never tell any of the others that of course. No way. Have them stare at me and have them think "Poor Jamie. He can't afford a two-dollar guitar pick". And yet, there are times when I need them. Tyler, Val, Hank, Catie---all of them. They're my rock, my anchor. I can count on them to be there for me. When things are getting too rough at home, I know they'll be there to take my mind off of things, 'cause that's what friends are for. Even if they don't know everything, I can depend on them to be there for me. And they know I'll be there for them. That's just the way it is. But there are so many levels to me: wild, sensitive, rebellious, dedicated. Who am I? Just who am I?
