A/N: So this is just a cute little fluffy story that I wrote, I hope you like it.

Marry Her

Ever since we were little, when we were playing in our cardboard castle, I was the prince. I would twirl and dance with my princess, and protect her when the evil dragon came to take her away.

When we were little, and ignorant, and I was too young to understand why my mother was never home, I promised that I would marry my princes, my Riley.

When we were a little older, and it was still considered cute to hold hands and kiss each other on the cheek- when we still danced around in our blanket fort, I still promised to marry her.

When we were twelve and people started to look at us strangely when we walked past holding hands, and we actually knew the meaning of marrying someone, I promised that I would marry her. She had grinned, kissed me on the cheek, and held my hand even tighter.

When we were fourteen and going on our first date, I took her on a carriage ride through central park using all the money I had saved up. After that, we walked under the stars back her house where I showed her the blanket fort castle I had made in her room. She had the biggest smile on her face as she dragged me into it and it was there, again, that I promised that I would one day marry her. We had our first real kiss bundled in blankets in our make-believe castle.

When we were sixteen and oblivious to the world as we cuddled on the couch, I couldn't help but slip onto the floor and propose to her. She looked down at me, laughed, and kissed me solidly on the lips. She promised that she would marry me- just not yet.

Ever since I could remember, I had been the prince and Riley was my princess. We promised each other, when we first became friends, that it would always be her, and me, together. I had always loved her and I didn't once doubt that she loved me.

Ever since we were little I had promised to marry her, and when we turned eighteen, I finally did. But the funny thing is is that she proposed to me.
