"Is that for school?" Yuuta recognizes the voice even before he glances up to meet the familiar slitted eyes. He presses the book facedown against his thigh, glaring at his older brother.

Fuji only smiles, the tips of his mouth curving upwards with their usual complacency. Sliding onto the couch next to his sibling, he leans against him. With only a slight angle, he is able to see the book's cover. "The S—"

Frowning, Yuuta quickly moves his arm to cover the title. He expects Fuji to follow up on the subject, to try and figure out what book he's reading, but the older one makes no move to do so, merely resting his head against the younger's shoulder. Calm, as he always is.

"I'm trying to read," Yuuta says, the implication clear as day. As if to prove his point, he picks up his book again, propping it against his knee closest Fuji, and tilting it so that the other can't see the words.

"Aah, so you are," Fuji acknowledges, his head bobbing up and down rhythmically. His closed eyes make it difficult to tell where he's looking, and Yuuta has never found this more aggravating.

"Why are you being so annoying?" he asks, glaring down at the pages.

"I'm just sitting here," Fuji justifies, the sincerity in his tone making Yuuta's fist twitch around the book's cover.

"You're not, you're leaning against me and…" he almost glances up when he feels Fuji's eyes focus on him. "…being weird."

"You're warm."

"Go away; you're distracting me."

"I'm helping you improve your focus."

"You're not, you're making me lose it. Leave." Yuuta shoves his brother lightly, hoping the physical motion, however slight, will get him to give up.

"I'm helping you learn to ignore distractions. Keep reading."

"Stop it," he shoves him a little harder; repetitively, when it doesn't seem to have much of an effect.

Fuji simply continues smiling, unable to keep from laughing a little at the exasperated look on his brother's face.

After awhile, his internal organs beginning to get sore, the older one slips off the couch, exiting the room. But not before casting a last smile back at his brother. Yuuta pretends he is too caught up in his book to notice.

Short little thing, inspired by one such interaction with my younger sister this afternoon that made me think of these two. Hope it was enjoyable, if kind of short and out of character.
