Victoire Gabrielle Weasley, 20

She had felt alone for a long time. Victoire had grown up as the oldest in a big family. She had 9 cousins and 2 siblings, yet she never felt liked by any of them. True, Maman loved that Vic was a mini version of herself. Even so, they didn't seem to understand Vic. Her whole life, Vic had felt a need to be perfect, but no one seemed to appreciate it. Her cousins found the perfect pink princess positively dull, and it enraged her sister Dom. So, despite trying so hard to be, and succeeding in being, 'perfect', she'd never felt it inside. When, she failed her Defense Against the Dark Arts NEWT, Vic was heartbroken. Teddy found her crying under the duvet in her parents bed.

He said to her, "You don't always have to be perfect."

Victoire always said that was the moment she truly fell in love with him.

Victoire and Dominique had always had a sisterly feud. Dom hated Vic and her 'perfect life', though Vic was fairly sure that if Dom could see inside Vic's head, she would change her mind. She'd realize that the harsh reality was a world away from perfection. Yes, she has a good career, and a wonderful boyfriend, but perfection takes a lot of hard work, and Dom certainly doesn't make life any easier. They had been close as little kids, but Dom despised Vic for being better at everything. Dom thrashed out, and Maman always said that she felt overshadowed by Vic, her perfect big sister. Ever since, Vic has blamed herself for Dom's rebellious streak.

The happiest moment of Vic's life was Teddy's proposal. He had taken her to get fish and chips at the hut near shell cottage, and they had laid on a picnic blanket on the beach, late into the night, hand in hand. When Vic next opened her eyes, in the star-streaked sky, there was one star that shone brighter than the rest. As her eyes adjusted to the dark, she looked closer, to see not a star, but a diamond. A diamond ring.

"Victoire Gabrielle Weasley. I love you more than you could ever imagine. You are my everything, and I don't care if we're too young, or too reckless, I want you to be my wife. Will you marry me Vic?" Lost for words, she cried into his mop of turquoise hair, and she was about to tell him her secret. The words were on the tip of her tongue. But all she said was "Yes."

When Victoire tells her family of her and Teddy's engagement, she gets exactly the response she expected. Grandma cried. A lot. Maman fussed, wanting to know what dress Vic would wear. Everyone poured scorn upon this ridiculous question, as if Vic would already know! But she truly was Maman's daughter, and she couldn't deny, she had put a little thought into it. Lily squealed, and jumped around all over the place. Louis couldn't stop smiling. Dad repeatedly hugged her, and clapped Ted on the back a hundred times or more. Al started planning the wedding cake, and Uncle Harry laughed, saying how he'd known it all along, they were made for each other. But Dom surprised her. Vic prepared herself for a sarcastic quip, or eye roll. But Dom hugged her like they used to hug, when they were kids, and whispered in her ear "You'd better make him change his hair for the wedding. Turquoise? Really?" Vic laughed, spitting on Dom's neck as she did so. It was one her worst habits, and Dom's pet peeve. Vic readied herself for a shriek of "Ew! How many times? Stop spitting on me" But Dom didn't say anything or draw away. She held on tight, and it felt like, in that one silent hug, a thousand kind words were said, and a thousand old wounds were healed.

"I love you, Vic."

"I love you too."

She secretly wished for the signature Weasley hair. It was something Dad and Dom shared that she wasn't a part of, and she had always been jealous of their relationship. Maman may have doted on her, but she also fussed over Louis, and Dom was Dad's obvious favorite by far. Yes, Dad was fond of Vic, but Dad and Dom were a team, and Vic illogically thought that it was due to their matching fiery hair. Maybe it was because she didn't want to admit that he just liked her better. Vic felt like she had spent half her life trying to please her Dad, but for Dom it was effortless, and her rebellious streak and refusal to obey seemed to just strengthen their relationship.

One of the things that made her happiest was when her Dad called her Princess. Maybe it was childish, and she would just about die of embarrassment if her friends, or even Teddy, heard about it, but it made her feel safe. It was the way he said it, like she was so very special. When Dom called her Princess, it was mocking, laughing at her pink clothes and Rapunzel hair. Maybe she really loved the name because it was hers. Despite their special relationship, Dad just called Vic's sister 'Dom'. Childish it may be, but Vic loved her pet name, and prayed her Dad would never assume she'd grown out of it.

She had never really come to terms with Louis's muteness, though she hates to admit it, as she was meant to be the perfect, saintly, loving sister. She just wasn't expecting this- her little brother falling silent. She didn't understand, and never knew what to say to him anymore. Consequently, they drifted apart, and although she missed her little brother, Vic didn't make the effort her Maman did to connect to Louis.

It wasn't until she met Matty that she realized what Louis was going through. Matty was a very depressed, mute, 15 year old who had attempted suicide, and Victoire was assigned his healer. He stopped speaking because he had been traumatized as a child. His family had failed to support him throughout this, and when his best friend died of a quidditch injury, it was too much. Matty had tried to hang himself. Victoire rushed home that night, drew Louis into a huge hug and told him how much she loved him, over and over. Louis was puzzled, but hugged her back. Since then, Louis and Vic have been closer than even before his muteness.

Her favorite person in the world, joint with Teddy, was Grandmère. They had always had a special connection, as Vic was the only one of her siblings who spoke fluent French (Louis didn't speak at all, and Dom couldn't be bothered). She always felt so special when they were sharing a whispered conversation in French, under the weeping willow outside Grandmère's Provence villa. When Grandmère died, Vic spent a full day alone, under the weeping willow, crying, and talking to Grandmère in French, just like she used to. Now, she visits the willow alone every year on the anniversary of her death. This is where Grandmère's buried now, under their special tree.

Vic's deepest darkest secret is that she cheated on Teddy. It was just a kiss. Or two. Or ten. But the relationship only lasted a couple days, and she was still in love with Teddy, although whether this makes it better or worse Vic doesn't know. She was just scared; it was the day Teddy asked her to move in with him after she left Hogwarts, and she was nervous about the commitment she was making. You always see people on TV doing that sort of thing on their wedding day, right? She regrets it of course - she would pay all the galleons in the world to undo those few days secretly kissing in the broom cupboard. She was missing Teddy - it was his first year out of Hogwarts. Robby was just there when she needed someone most. She tells herself this every morning, as she tries to justify her actions to herself. She finds herself half believing it, and deciding she'd tell Teddy, that he loved her, that it'd be OK. But every time she looked into those deep blue eyes, she couldn't bring herself to do it. She loved him too much to hurt him like that.
