Brooke Davis threw her long dark hair over her shoulders and huffed her way out of the taxi and up the stairs to her new apartment. She was exasperated by the time she reached the door. Where was Lucas when you needed him? She scrambled through her pockets until she found her keys and fumbled them into the lock. Just as she was pulling her large Louis Vuitton suitcase through the doorway, she realised there was someone standing over her.

"I have been waiting out here for two hours, Brooke! I thought you were meant to have landed hours ago!"

"Isabelle?!" Brooke looked surprised as she noticed her cousin standing in front of her. "What are you doing here?"

"Well," She started as she pushed her way past Brooke into the apartment. "I spoke to your Mom this morning and told her I was back in town. She suggested what a great idea it would be for me to move in with you! It'll be just like when we were kids."

Brooke slammed the front door shut and threw her keys onto the nearby side table. She stood and stared at Isabelle, trying to remember when she last saw her.

"Isabelle, I haven't seen or heard from you in two years and now you want to live with me?"

Isabelle glanced back at her cousin from the top of the hallway where she was looking in the surrounding bathroom, bedroom and cupboards.

"Yeah, pretty much. I wasn't really happy in Chicago so I thought I'd come home. This place is a little small, but it'll do."

Insenced, Brooke stormed up the hallway to where Isabelle was poking around in the laundry cupboard and slammed the door shut on her.

"No! You can't stay here! I dont want a flatmate and even if I did, it wouldn't be you!"

Isabelle turned her back to Brooke and raised her hand to her head. She attempted to speak, then faltered her words.

"I don't have anywhere else to go and I have no money. Please Brooke, let me stay. I'll be no trouble and you won't even know I'm here. I can't go back to Chicago, B; I just can't."

Brooke eyed the girl up and down, suspiciously.

"Just for a few days." She begged.

"Days?" Brooke asked.

"Weeks, maybe?" Isabelle smiled. She threw her arms around her cousin. "Oh, B, you don't know what this means to me!" She cried, a melancholy tone to her voice and a huge grin across her face."
