It was 3 days later, and I was almost finished with creating the device that would kill every last one of those things that had been hunting us down. Lif (Littlefoot) was holding up fine, as well as his mother. Cera was alright, too. Ducky was also tugging alongside us. I went ahead and set up a camp in little isolated area with very little trees so as to make it harder for the Unknown to stay hidden. (The Unknown is the general name I gave these aliens.) I had a tent where I did most of my experiments to find new weaknesses for those things. I had made a device that contained mucus sampled from one of the aliens I killed. I learned that when the Unknown come into contact with dead alien tissue or mucus, the result is rather lethal. I wanted to save it for one to see how it worked out. However, what happened that night nearly scarred me for life. I had just washed the makeshift blanket I made for the Dinosaurs. It was just a bunch of blankets sewn together. Surprisingly enough to where there was room for Lif's mom. (As she was much bigger than the others.) I usually slept alone in my tent, though tonight I'd start sleeping with the others more. Lif's mother was about to reach down to pick Lif up when she noticed something showing in his eye. The small longneck looked puzzled at why his mother looked so worried. "Mama... what's wrong?" He asked. She went over to me and nudged me with her snout.
"Rye, I think you should look at this." I went over to Lif and took a better look at his eye. It looked like there was a black spot sitting in the corner of his eye. I immediately became filled with dread. I ran back to my tent and grabbed the alien lure light I had in my toolbox. Running back out, I had Lif sit down and explained what was going on to everyone else.
"So, I think there might've been an alien that crawled into his nostrils or mouth a few nights ago. I have a plan to get it out, but it's not going to be a pretty sight. I need you three to hold Lif down while this light is on. The Unknown are obsessed with this light. They'll jump at it like it's prey and latch onto it. Once it's out, I'll kill it." They all agreed to help. Lif's mother had a worried look on her face. I knew she didn't want to see her only young one go through something like this; however, she still agreed to help. I went over to Lif and explained to him what was going to happen. "Ok, so I know you're a little confused. We think there might be one of those creatures inside of you right now. Don't be scared, though. Were gonna get it out with this. This is a little light that they like and are attracted towards. It'll popped right out and you'll be just fine. I promise." He nodded slightly. I could still tell he was frightened, and I didn't blame him. Those things try to live inside us like a disease. Every little crevice they find, they'll get into.
Cera and Ducky held down Lif firmly, but not too much to make sure he didn't get hurt. His mom nuzzled him on the top of his head for comfort. I prepared the lure and turned it on. I placed it carefully on the ground and grabbed my shotgun from the tent. Now, it was just the waiting game. My hands became sweatier as I aimed at the lure. (I knew that was what the thing would go for first.) Suddenly, Lif's jaws were forced open by the alien. Everyone around him let out a scream as they witnessed this... black blob of alien mucus and tentacles squirming around to get out of Lif's mouth. The only sound coming from the poor longneck was a thick gargling noise. The creature eventually split itself in half to get out of the Lif's jaws. It lept directly at the light and latched on. I fired off my shotgun, but missed by a hairs breath. It was then that it saw Cera and lept again to attack her. Cera was forced on her back squirming helplessly to try and get it off. She screamed at the top of her lungs, "GET IT OFF! GET IT OFF!!! HELP ME!!!!" The creature made angry hissing noises as it tried to grab her with it's tentacles. I aimed again at the alien now on top of the screaming threehorn. If I fucked up this shot in the slightest, then she would end up dead. I had to aim higher to where the buckshot would still hit the alien and leave Cera uninjured. I pulled the trigger. The thing was hit by three pellets. The scared to death threehorn wasn't harmed at all. The alien was liquified in an explosion of black slime. Cera was covered in mucus but she just got to her feet and got away. Then I remembered the device I had in the tent. I would be able to test it. I ran in and out again with the device and threw it at the puddle that was just about to regenerate. It bursted into flames and the blob screeched in agony and melted into a lifeless puddle. I took a sample of goo to use for another one.
After that nightmare, I ran over to Lif and the others. "Are you OK bud?" All he could do is gag. "There might still be alien matter in his stomach and throat. We need to get it out. Luckly, when aliens split themselves, the other half liquifies. So, getting it out should be easy." I assured.
"H-how!?" Lif's mom said worryingly. "He'll have to throw it up" I explained. "I'll hold my arms around him and pump his stomach to help him get it up." She helped me get him to somewhere away from the others. She stayed with Lif to comfort him. She lowered herself to where she could nuzzle him and he could hug her, but give him enough room to throw up.
"Are... you alright with getting a little dirty? There's quite a bit of matter in his stomach." I asked her. "No... no... I need to be with my son to make sure he knows everything is going to be ok. You said he'd be ok, right?" I noticed she started to tear up a little.
"Y-yes. He will. I promise you... but I have to do this to absolutely assure that's the case." She looked down at Lif and nodded. "Okay buddy... I'm going to do the first pump. I need you to get as much out each time... alright? That way we don't have to do it too many times." He nodded, as a tear rolled down his cheek. His mom gave him a kiss.
"Okay... on 3... 1... 2... 3." I pumped his stomach upward. Lif coughed loudly, let out a gargling noise, and an outpour of black alien goo spilled onto the ground aswell as his mom. The smell was absolutely vial. The sounds that came from Lif almost made me throw up myself. Lif bursted out sobbing. He clearly was not enjoying what he was going through. Who the Hell would want to go through this!? It was almost rare to see Lif this upset.
"Shh... it's alright bud... just one more... I promise you'll be better soon..." I said trying to comfort him the best I could. "Okay... here we go... 1... 2... 3." Pumping once more Lif gargled and spewed even more mucus than before onto the puddle below and onto his mother. I swear it was like I was doing a fuckin' exorcism.
After that, I helped carry Lif back to the tent with his mom behind me. Her chest and legs were trailing with dead alien goop. I layed the sick young longneck on my bed and got some paper towels. I wiped his mouth and chin clean of goo. I also had him blow his nose since some of it got into his nostrils. After he was clean, I came out with him. His mom nuzzled him in relief to see he was still ok. Cera needed to be cleaned, too. I had her lay on her back. I wiped her tummy and chin. She giggled a bit. Kind of strange considering that I could've of gotten her killed. Luckily Ducky was untouched. Lif's mom lowered herself enough to where I could wiped her chest, legs and feet. At last, the nightmare was over.
We all started getting ready for bed. Everyone huddled together so I could drag the massive blanket over them. Now, as I said earlier, I usually would sleep by myself in my tent; however, starting tonight I was going to sleep with the Dinosaurs for now on. Especially after... that event. I wanted to make sure no one had an alien crawl into their insides again. I crawled under the blanket with everyone. It was more comfortable than I thought it would be.
Lif held onto his mother tight. It almost seemed like he was cemented onto her and you couldn't break him off. She nuzzled the shaking longneck. The others and I also snugged next to him.
Hopefully this night terror ends... soon...
