A/N: This is my first fanfic that I had help with. Thanks to The Asiassassin for helping me out, and a HUGE thanks to ghaaaaaaaaaa for finding the time to look this over! Daniel Peterson, who doesn't have an account, also helped me with this. If you have the time, please go read Ruby's Birthday on my page. Daniel worked really hard to write it and he had me post it for him, so feedback would be greatly appreciated. I've had ideas like this in my head for a while now, and I finally got something down. Enjoy.

He'd never been in a situation like this before. Roman Torchwick never really cared much for most of the people in his life. But now, the only exception to that piece of trivia was in the next room hooked up to life support. The underground hospitals were never well funded, but they still managed to procure a few heart monitors and dialysis machines, and Roman was relieved by that fact. Still, nothing could change the medical papers that he was reading.

Neo Politan was currently in critical condition, and the only way for her to recover was with numerous organ donors. Naturally, with the establishment not necessarily being licensed, donors would be difficult to come by. Neo's profession didn't really help her situation either. The doctors had already spoken with Roman about her condition, and, as things were, she would be lucky to survive.

For the time being, there was nothing he could do. All he could do was wait. As the seconds ticked by, each one bringing Neo potentially closer to death, Roman's mind drifted back to the events prior.

Ozpin couldn't help but smile at the two teams converging on the landing pad below. The window in his office gave a very extensive view of one side of the school, and the two bullheads being loaded were not excluded from his vision. He had seen an inexplicable amount of potential in the two closest teams of his third-year class. He was especially proud of the leader of one group. With her age, she should have begun her attendance at Beacon that very year, but her exploits proved to him that his choice of allowing her early entry was correct. In the brief two years that he's known teams RWBY and JNPR, they succeeded in uncovering White Fang operations that even the Vale Police Department was oblivious to. They even revealed a group of imposters inside Beacon itself. All three spies escaped during the incident, but Torchwick no longer had eyes on the inside of Beacon, and that was an accomplishment that nobody could discredit.

Even now, Ruby Rose, Weiss Schnee, Blake Belladonna, and Yang Xiao Long were prepared to follow yet another lead on the whereabouts of these criminals while Jaune Arc, Nora Valkyrie, Pyrrha Nikos and Lie Ren readied themselves to attack a White Fang hideout on the opposite side of the city. The bullhead carrying team JNPR began to depart while half of team RWBY sat in their transport. The leader of said team gave one last look at the clock tower where Ozpin currently stood and, with a smirk, turned to her team to begin their mission.

(line break)

As a scroll showed security footage that a certain green-haired thief had "liberated" from a security guard, a fiery rage began to build within Cinder. An exasperated sigh filled the small room followed by a frustrated growl. "She's too damn flashy!" Ever since Roman started bringing that mute brat on missions, Cinder's operations became more noticeable. She even went as far as blaming the failure at Beacon directly on Neo, smacking her in the face. The physical abuse elicited an unsavory response from Roman as well. Things were becoming clear now. The little psychopath had to go. An evil smile found its way onto Cinder's face, and she recalled the incoming attacks from the Beacon students. "Hmmm. Two birds with one stone would be nice."

A buzzing came from Ruby's pocket. She opened it to find that Jaune was calling her. "We've made contact with the White Fang. We'll finish up here and give you some support." With that, the crimsonette gave him a "Good luck" and prepared for her team's approach. The pilot gave her a thumbs up, and team RWBY jumped down to the mission area.

During one of her many missions scouting White Fang recruitment meetings, Blake found some documents stating that the White Fang was based at an old warehouses while Cinder and her personal bodyguards were stationed at a burned out hotel. She had become a master of infiltration in her two full years at Beacon. Ruby turned to her friends and gave her orders. "We'll split up into Bumblebee, taking the East entrance, and Ice Flower, taking the West." With a nod, the brawler tore off with the Faunus in tow. "Alright, Weiss! Let's move!"

Roman's work was interrupted by shards of what used to be a wall covering the table he was sitting at. In walked the very same girl that thwarted his robbery at From Dust Till Dawn. Standing next to her was the Schnee girl. "Ya know, Red, I really am not in the mood right now. You have the worst timing. Can we continue this another night?" The sniper scythe pointed at him seemed to answer his question.

The reapress gave a smirk and replied, "Not gonna happen!" Roman dropped his cigar, stepping on it calmly. He took half a second to check his scroll, relieved that Neo's aura was still full. After grabbing Melodic Cudgel, he flipped the table, and gunfire started to fill the room. A series of blows were exchanged, none of which were too concerning. The fighting ceased for a brief moment, and the door opened, revealing Mercury who happily joined the fray.

Roman spoke briefly, "Emerald and Cinder?"

"Out of danger."

"Neo?"

"She's fighting the other two."

Their short conversation was interrupted by a flurry of strikes from the heiress. Roman gave a small chuckle. "Rude." The following minutes were filled with exchanged blows and shots that were mainly blocked and dodged. "Let's teach you some manners."

Cinder's eyes were trained on the room she laced with explosives. "Are they both inside?"

Emerald grinned. "Neo, the cat Faunus, and the blonde are all inside."

The older of the two couldn't suppress her laugh. "Three! Even better!" As the cackling died down, Cinder snapped her fingers. All that followed after that was an entire room of the building collapsing in on itself and shards of debris flying outward into the adjacent abandoned buildings. The raven-haired woman grinned maniacally, and the pair left the scene.

A mid-sized, grimy room with a cot and some chairs became the battleground where a matchup seemed to be in favor of the students of Beacon. Blake and Yang entered the room to find a girl wearing pink and white sitting on her cot with her parasol, mocking the two with a smirk. Both Blake and Neo noticed the look of rage on Yang, her eyes changing from a soft lavender to a harsh crimson. The pink and brown hues blinked playfully. The students certainly had the advantage of numbers, but Yang knew all too well of Neo's fighting style. The blonde gritted her teeth, nearly seething with rage. Without hesitating any longer, Yang dashed forward, throwing a punch that never hit its intended target. The miss sent Yang stumbling forward followed by an impact from Neo's closed parasol. Blake moved in to assist her partner, only to be knocked off guard by a rapidly opening umbrella.

Neo readied a flurry of kicks, but was interrupted by a loud "BOOM" along with an immense rumble. Yang was struck by pieces of rubble and sent flying into the wall opposite the explosion, multiple sickening cracks sounding from her body. Blake was merely showered will small piece of shrapnel and pushed into a nearby wall. Neo however, held up her parasol entirely as a reflex. A large piece of debris fell directly onto her weapon, and a sharp pain could be felt from her abdomen. Smaller, yet heavy pieces of the once erect building fell on top of her chest. The rubble didn't bury the mute, but Neo knew that something was extremely wrong. She looked down to her coat to find it stained red. She felt dizzy and began to slip in and out of consciousness, the pain in her stomach constantly taunting her.

"What the hell was that!?" The skirmish was completely ceased by the rumbling of the entire building following a loud boom. Roman's scroll vibrated, and he pulled it out to see what was happening. His face immediately went pale when he saw the aura gauge of the very girl that cared most for. Cinder's, Emerald's, Mercury's, and a certain multi-hair-colored girl's faces were portrayed on the screen. Everyone's aura gauge was full or nearly full, except one. Neo's aura was entirely empty, and her vitals were fading. He threw his scroll across the room and began sprinting for the other side of the building. Mercury relaxed his stance, noticing that the two students were also checking their scrolls with worried looks on their faces. He shrugged it off and followed Torchwick.

Coming up on the room Neo had been staying in, Roman kicked down the door. The other side of doorway was barely a room anymore. Rubble and debris filled most of the area. There was no sign of Neo, and that made Roman feel sick. He desperately scoured all of the rubble to find her. He noticed a girl with blonde hair sitting against a wall, barely conscious. He grasped her neck. "Where is she?! ANSWER ME!" The brawler shakily lifted her arm and pointed to a corner. The thief loosened his grip and started walking toward Neo. As soon as she was in his sight, his heart sank. Part of Neo's parasol impaled her abdomen. Blood caked her jacket and corset. Her eyes found Roman's, giving him a terrified look, but she smiled warmly after seeing his face. She slumped against the wall, losing consciousness. At least she didn't feel any more pain. Roman scooped her up and began to carefully carry her out of the building. As he reached the door, he noticed the cat Faunus looking around for her partner. Roman gestured to the back of the room, and she ran in that direction. Mercury joined him outside of the room, and they quickly moved by their opponents, Mercury keeping his guard up all the while.

The younger man spoke up. "It was Cinder and Emerald."

"Yeah. I know." Roman failed to hold back his tears. "Let's just get to the doc.

The medical reports spelled it out perfectly. Neo's lungs were collapsed, her kidneys were badly bruised, and her liver was punctured; all would need to be replaced. A matching donor still couldn't be found. Roman decided to have himself tested to see if his organs could replace hers. All that he could do now was wait.

Mercury took a seat next to him. "I can convince them that Neo's dead, but that's it. Cinder's already pissed that the twerps got away." Roman said nothing. "Emerald is still my friend. I can't betray her. Whatever else you need is up to you." He stood and walked away, leaving Roman alone once again.

The seasoned criminal pulled out his wallet. Opening the folds of leather, he extracted multiple photos, each wrinkled and faded with the years. The first one he examined showed Neo sleeping in his bed. Her signature parasol and outfit not present. She was dressed in what could easily described as rags. That was the very night they had met. Neo sat in an alleyway begging for food. Roman brought her into his apartment. The second photo showed her reaction to the feast he provided her the next morning, her eyes wide with surprise. Roman chuckled at the sight. He continued looking through pictures, laughing and crying. One dark memory resurfaced when blood-caked bandages were wrapped around the girl's neck. That was the day she stopped speaking. He remembered the moment she tried to say his name enthusiastically after waking up from the incident. No sound escaped her mouth, and she definitely noticed. She attempted to ask what was wrong with her, but all that filled the room was silence. He remembered the embrace they shared as well as the tears. He remembered blaming himself for the event, claiming that he should have seen the mugger long before he reached her. He examined several photos of the two of them sleeping together with Neo cuddling against him, all of which taken by Mercury so he could mock them later on. He longed to cuddle with her one more time. That couldn't happen now. It could never happen again, and that cut him deeper than any scythe or rapier ever could.

The Beacon infirmary only housed a handful of students that night for a variety of reasons. However, Yang Xiao Long suffered multiple cracked ribs, a broken arm, and a concussion. Blake was luckier. The explosion merely left her with a few scratches and bruises. Upon Ozpin's visit, Yang asked what happened to Torchwick and if he was caught. He hadn't been seen since the fight. Cinder was still missing as well. Yang then explained what happened with Neo and that Torchwick would probably be at a hospital.

The Headmaster furrowed his brow and took a sip of his coffee. "I wish you a speedy recovery Miss Xiao Long." He began to leave the room when he stopped by the team's leader. "Please make sure nobody in your team follows me, yourself included." Ruby gave a nod, confused by his request. As he left the infirmary, Ozpin pulled out his scroll and tapped the screen multiple times until he was faced with a message dialogue. 'Send me a list of unlicensed hospitals in downtown Vale. -Oz' Not long after that, his scroll buzzed. A small list was displayed on the screen. This one's closest to the site. With that, he closed his scroll and headed for the bullhead pad.

The redheaded criminal continued to stare at the paper in his hand, desperately clinging to the fact that it was indeed real. The medical papers that he had received just moments prior held the very words he wished to see. His organs could be donated to Neo. The man couldn't stop crying, the paper soaking up a multitude of tears. He pulled a cigar out of his pocket and brought it to his mouth. Realization struck him, and he threw the cigar away before he could light it. She needs my lungs.

Moments passed as the doctors prepared an OR for surgery. A door at the end of the hall opened and a grey-haired man walked to an adjacent chair. Roman gave a slight chuckle. "I can't remember the last time I saw you."

As he took a seat, Ozpin retorted, "I remember it clearly. Second year at Beacon. Your team wasn't very happy that one of their members left without a word. Neither was mine."

"Oh piss off," the thief responded with a smirk.

"How is she?"

Roman frowned. "Not good."

"I hope you understand that I am going to have to arrest you."

A genuine smile covered Torchwick's face. "That's not going to happen, Oz." Ozpin gave a quizzical look. "Neo needs organs, and it just so happens that I'm a match. But she needs more than I can give if I want to walk away." The criminal sighed. "I'm done."

The more distinguished of the two looked on Roman with sympathy. "She's not going to be happy to hear that."

"Yeah, yeah. I know. She's not gonna take it well. That's why I need a favor."

Surprised, the headmaster responded, "Oh?"

"I need you to take her into Beacon. I need you to protect her. If that… bitch finds out that she's alive, Neo's going to need a lot of protection."

Ozpin removed his glasses and wiped them on his scarf. "I suppose that I can find a spot for her. I can't promise that a certain blonde will be quite as accepting as myself though."

Roman smiled again. "Neo will be fine. I heard she really did a number on that Yang girl during the breach. Just… look after her, will you?" Ozpin gave a nod.

"I'll come back after the operation. I do hope things go smoothly." With that, the headmaster stood and walked out of the building. Before he closed the door behind him, he gave a sad look back to the man who used to be his friend. I wish things could have been different.

Ozpin departed from the site, but not in the direction of Beacon. Instead, he set his sights on the nearby convenience store with a sign on the window saying, 'Cigarettes. 2 packs for the price of 1!' He shuddered, and entered the establishment.

"Alright be careful. Her ribs are broken, and we don't want to reopen her wound during the operation. Mr. Torchwick, please lie down on this bed."

Torchwick's vision was irritated by the ridiculously bright light in the grimey room. "Sure thing, doc. Hey, give her my hat and my cane when it's over, would ya? And give her my wallet too." I just hope she doesn't get moldy on the inside after sitting in here.

The doctor gave him a nod as well as a smile, though his mask hid it. "Ok we're gonna give you an anesthetic. Take deep breaths, and count backwards from ten."

Roman obeyed. "Ten, nine, eight, seven… six… f-five… fo-..."

"... she'll be ok… she's tough… can we trust her?..." What? What's going on? Eyelids fluttered open, revealing one pink hue and one white. "She's awake!" Who's that? What's happening? The multi-hair-colored girl looked lazily around the room. A tall man with white hair stood in the doorway, and four girls surrounded her in chairs. Am I in a hospital? Oh, right. The explosion. Her eyes widened when she noticed who exactly was in the room. The very enemies she fought the day before — Wait. Was it yesterday? How long have I been here? The older man quieted the girls who were talking. "Ms. Politan?" The mute made a motion with her hands as if she were writing on her palm. The man opened his scroll, bringing up a text dialogue, and handed it to her.

"Where's Roman? And why are they here?"

A sad look reached the man's eyes. "Ms. Politan. I'm afraid that the explosion you were in left you with some damaged organs. A donor was needed, and… Mr. Torchwick rose to fill that need. You needed more than one person could give without sacrificing himself, and no other donor could be found. I'm deeply sorry, but he gave his life so that you could continue yours."

Neo sat there in awe, unable to bring herself to move her fingers over the scrolls digital keyboard. At that moment, she began to cry silent tears, small droplets hitting the scroll in her hands. She couldn't believe it. How could something like this happen so suddenly? He was the one who gave her a home when she had none. He was the only one who ever cared about her. How could this happen?

The girl with the red cape got up and slowly walked toward her, extending her arms. "He wanted you to have these." After blinking the blurriness away from her eyes, new looked at the girl. In her hands were Roman's bowler cap and his cane. She grabbed the hat. Then, after staring at it for a moment, she brought it close to her chest and began to weep again. NO! THIS ISN'T FAIR! WHY! WHY DID THIS HAPPEN! The heterochromatic remembered. THAT BITCH! I'LL KILL HER!

"Ms. Politan! Please! You'll injure your ribs more than they already are!" The broken girl threw the scroll at the man, shattering it to pieces as it connected with the wall behind him. She then violently motion to the door, demand that everyone leave. As the man and the four girls left, the blonde unable to look at her while she limped by, Neo wept, continuing to clutch the bowler cap. The crimson-haired girl left Roman's cane on the bed before she exited the room. Why?

Professor Ozpin left the building for a moment while Neo cooled down. He never would have considered it, but an old vice had weaseled its way back into his life, made apparent by the lit cigarette in his hand. He brought it to his lips and inhaled, shuddering as the nicotine entered his system. His break was interrupted by an opening door, followed by the bubbly scythe wielder.

"Professor Ozpin? Are you… smoking?" A genuine look of worry came over her face.

The older man sighed, flicking the cigarette away. "Yes, Ms. Rose. I was smoking." Ozpin was disgusted with himself. He hadn't smoked in years.

Ruby tilted her head to the side. "Why? Don't you know smoking is bad for you?"

Ozpin sighed once again. "Stress will make you do many things. I wouldn't condone it."

The teen still seemed confused. "What has you stressed out?"

He hesitated. "Ruby, not very many people know this, but Roman Torchwick used to be a friend of mine." The crimsonette's eyes widened in surprise. "Yes, it's true. I actually went to Beacon with him. He was on a team that was very close to mine. Much like you and JNPR."

Ruby smiled, but a frown replaced the smile as she asked, "What happened? How did he end up becoming a criminal?"

Ozpin's eyes grew somber. "He made some enemies during his time at Beacon. One crime boss in particular even put a bounty on his head. He didn't think much of it until one of his team members was attacked by a group of thugs. They weren't exactly pushovers. By the time the seven of us found her, they had broken both of her legs, and her spine was damaged as well." A tear slid down the man's cheek. "Her career was cut short, and she was put in a wheelchair."

The leader gave a sympathetic look. "Where is she now?"

More tears fell from the headmaster's face. "She committed suicide weeks later. Roman had already blamed himself entirely, but after the… incident, he couldn't bring himself to put his team in danger anymore."

The girl asked, "What happened next."

The headmaster waited a moment. "He disappeared. Hadn't seen him face to face since then. At least, until right before Neo's operation."

Ruby looked at the ground. "I'm sorry that happened."

Ozpin wiped the tears from his eyes. "Don't be. That crime boss is behind bars." The older man looked down at Ruby. "Thank you, Ruby. I think that was just what I needed." With that, he pulled the two packs of cigarettes from his pocket and tossed them into the garbage can.

The girl smiled too. "What are we going to do about Neo?"

Ozpin gave another smile. "She needs some time to deal with her loss. She was the closest to Roman. We just need to give her some space. Then when she's ready to talk, we'll go back in and talk. I plan to admit her into Beacon Academy."

Ruby perked up. "Does this mean we won't be enemies anymore!?"

A chuckle escaped Ozpin's mouth. "Well that remains to be seen. I'm sure that, given some time, the four of you might find a friend in her." He smiled at her once again. "You're a very good person, Ms. Rose. I have no doubts that you'll get through to her."

The young leader looked up at Ozpin. "You really think so?"

"Summer would be immensely proud of you."

Happy tears slid down Ruby's face. "Thank you sir. That means a lot."

With a smile, Ozpin gestured to the door, and the two walked back inside. "I may need to borrow your scroll."

At least a half-hour had past since she had woken up. Neo continued to sob silently, the only sounds escaping her mouth being gasps and hiccups. She held onto the bowler cap for dear life. It was all she had left of Roman. Well that wasn't entirely true. He gave her pieces of himself. He gave her life. She was filled with guilt. He gave her a home, someone to finally call a father, and, now, he gave her his life. And what had she ever given to him? She wished that Roman hadn't given his life for her meager one. Neo was drowning in her own despair. Her eyes reached the cane that lay on the bed with her. Her shaking hand clumsily gripped the handle. A button clicked, and the sight flipped up at the bottom, allowing her to shoot whatever she wished. With tears flowing down her cheeks, she brought the end of the weapon to her chin. I'm coming, Roman. Please wait for me.

At that very moment, the door eased open. "MS. POLITAN!" The grey-haired man threw his own cane, barely knocking the barrel away from the multi-hair-colored girl's head. The shot instead collided with the ceiling, causing numerous shards of debris to fall. The man dove forward, careful not to further injure the girl. The debris never made contact with her. Instead, she found that the man had taken the shrapnel in her place, his aura doing well to keep him from sustaining serious injuries.

The door burst open immediately after, the four girls dashing in to see what was going on, followed by a nurse. "What is happening?!" Neo couldn't move, shock paralyzing her. The man removed the debris from himself, then turned toward her. Is he… crying?

Neo couldn't possibly anticipate his next move. He pulled her into a tight, yet gentle, hug. "What in the name of dust were you thinking? Roman gives you his life, and you would just throw it away? Is that what he would want? Would he want you to just give up your life after he gave you a second chance?" Neo sat there, shocked. This stranger's words cut deeper than she could possibly have thought they would. A plethora of emotions overcame her, shame being the most prominent. She returned the hug hastily, and continued her sobs into the man's shoulder. "Roman asked me to protect you, so you need to promise me something right now. I want you never to give up. I want you to keep moving forward. For Roman." Neo nodded into his collar. I'm sorry! I'm so sorry, Roman!

Minutes passed, and the unknown man's hold on Neo began to slacken. Why do I feel so… safe with him here? As the embrace was finally broken, Neo made the same hand motion from earlier, requesting some form of communication. Ruby happily relinquished her scroll. The group of girls waited patiently as Neo typed her message into the scroll, bringing it up to the older man for him to read. 'Who are you? Did you know Roman?'

The man cleared his throat. "My name is Professor Ozpin. I'm the headmaster at Beacon Academy. And yes, I knew Roman. He was an old friend."

Neo began typing again. 'Why are you here? Why are they here? I've tried to kill them multiple times. Why would they come here?'

After reading the message, Ozpin replied, "Roman asked me to look after you. In fact, he wants me to admit you into Beacon. I'm sure Cinder wouldn't be happy to discover that you're alive. As for the girls, I brought them here because I believe that you could use some friends. Ruby here is certainly open to the idea."

The gothic dressed girl nodded with a face that contrasted her attire. "That's right. I don't think you're a bad person."

Neo smiled. She typed another message. 'Can I talk to the blonde alone for a moment?'

Ozpin nodded. "Of course. But first I think you should learn everyone's names."

"I'm Ruby," the chipper girl stated enthusiastically.

"Weiss."

"Blake," both Weiss and Blake sounded hesitant.

The blonde didn't say a word. Ruby seemed to be getting worried. "Yang?" She still refused to speak. "Yang, please."

She finally spoke softly, "I'd rather talk alone." Ruby nodded, and the four others exited the room.

Neo typed up a message for Yang. 'I'm sorry about our fights. I was doing my job. It wasn't anything personal.'

Yang sighed at the apology. "Ruby seems to trust you. I don't trust you, though. At least not yet. Just know, that if you hurt any of them, I will pound you into the ground until you aren't even recognizable as a human being." A worried look came over Neo's face. "But… if you keep your nose clean, I'll keep your blood off of my gauntlets. Are we clear?" At this, the mute smiled, communicating a message that words were not necessary for. The blonde reached out with her good arm, willing to give the other girl a handshake. Neo happily obliged, and the two girls smiled.

The shorter of the two typed up another message. 'I'm sorry about your arm. If I didn't piss Cinder off, none of this would have happened.'

Yang instantly shook her head after reading the words. "It's her fault, not yours. She'll pay for what she did."

Another message was typed. 'What's it going to take to earn your trust?'

The blonde thought for a moment. "Well… I think it's just gonna take time, ya know? This is one of those things that we'll just have to wait for. Just don't do anything stupid, and you should be fine." Neo nodded, and she sent a message to one of the contacts on the scroll, allowing the rest of the girls and Ozpin to re-enter.

The door opened, and the three other girls walked in. Ozpin followed them with a familiar object in his hands. It was Neo's parasol. The owner of the weapon was clearly happy to see it. Ozpin chuckled at how giddy the girl was getting. "They needed to clean the blood off of it. They even went as far as fixing the broken parts."

Neo quickly typed up another message. 'Tell them I'm grateful.' The rest of visit consisted of explanations of the school and planning for when Neo would be attending. Seeing as the current school year was already part way through the second semester, her attendance would begin the next year. It wouldn't take long for Neo to recover and leave the hospital.

As Neo was wheeled out of the lobby (due to the requirement that she leave the hospital in a wheelchair), a doctor ran after her. "Wait!" He seemed to be carrying a small object in his hands. After he caught up, he hand the object to her. "Mr. Torchwick wanted me to give you this." Neo looked at the item, and noticed that it was a wallet, Roman's wallet. Why would he want me to have it. Curious, she opened the leather folds. The first thing that came into view was a photo of Neo and Roman cuddling while they slept. She grabbed the rest of the photos out of the slots and examined them. Happy memories came flowing back, and Neo found it impossible to hold back tears. She looked up at the doctor, using the scroll that Ozpin, who was accompanying her as she was checked out of the hospital, had provided to type up a message of gratitude. The pair then turned back to the main doors and left the hospital for good.

Months had passed, and Team RWBY was ready to start their final year at Beacon. Many new students flocked to the great hall to hear Ozpin's speech. One girl in particular carried with her a parasol in one hand and a cane in the other, a bowler cap with a feather sticking out planted on her head. With a smile, she pulled out the very photo that she first saw when she opened Roman's wallet. Taking a deep breath, Neo Politan walked forward toward the great hall, feeling that a new segment of her life was beginning. One where she would be surrounded by people who cared for her. A voice brought her attention away from her destination for a moment. Four girls who were attending their final year at Beacon waved at the new student, and she returned the gesture. She looked to the blonde in the small group and the two exchanged nods. The team of four departed for their own obligations. Neo then sucked in a deep breath, reopening her eyes to reveal a fiery look of determination. Don't worry Roman. I'm gonna get stronger, and I'm gonna make her pay.

A/N: I might make a series of this. I would just have to find the time. Anyway, please leave a review and tell me what you think.
