Welcome to a brand new story, Dark Hero! Please enjoy, this might be a little shorter than usual. I do not own pokemon, or Sword Art Online.
Don't waste your time always searching for those wasted years.
-Iron Maiden, Wasted Years
Three years…three fucking years.
A shadowy figure looked over the outskirts of his hometown, Pallet. A Pikachu was perched on his shoulder, looking over the small town. The man had on a black jacket that rode down to his knees (like Kirito's jacket in SAO, only with a hood), the hood flopping on his back, a black Stetson that covered most of his face, along with his long raven hair. His jacket was unzipped, revealing a black, long sleeve shirt. He wore black fingerless gloves, dark blue jeans, and black combat boots. He had a small, hidden katana with a black blade sitting in its sheath on his back. And a Python revolver was kept on his left thigh. The only hint of any color was the dark blue jeans and the yellow rat sitting on his shoulder. He gazed over the town, and looked up at the stars in the night sky.
"Well Pikachu, it's been three years since my 'friends' rejected me and…well…y'know."
Pikachu nodded. "Pi."
"I just hope I can stay hidden in this shit-town. If I'm gonna investigate any of Team Rocket's crimes I've got to hide my identity."
"Chu." The yellow mouse agreed.
The dark-dressed man hopped onto a Harley Davidson Fat Boy Lo motorcycle and road away into Viridian forest.
Three years ago…
"Wait up guys!" Clemont called.
"Hurry up!" Bonnie replied. "We all wanna see Ash's hometown!"
"I know that!" Clemont argued.
"Well then hurry up!"
"Bonnie, it's okay!" Ash said. "We're in no hurry."
"I know, but I really wanna see your mom."
"Me too." Serena beamed.
"You'll see her soon enough." Ash assured her.
The group of four walked up to a humble looking home that was Ash's house. Ash knocked on the door, waiting for his mother to answer. A brunette woman that looked to be in her late thirties answered the door.
"How may I help- Welcome home Ash!" Ash's mother enveloped Ash in a huge hug.
"Mom…"Ash groaned. He looked towards Serena and Clemont who were chuckling.
"Hi Clemont! Serena! Bonnie!" Delia Ketchum said as she waved to each of Ash's friends. "Come inside Ash, there are some people waiting."
"Who?"
Delia giggled. "You'll see."
Delia and the four kids walked inside Ash's house and into the living room. Sitting on the couch was Gary and Samuel Oak, Tracey, Misty, and Brock.
"Holy shi-"
"Watch your mouth, young man!" Delia scolded.
"Sorry mom…" Ash muttered.
"Hey, Ashy-boy."
"Hey, Gary. Long time no see."
"Hey Ash!" Brock and Misty said.
"Hey, you guys!" Ash said as he gave them all a huge hug. Serena felt a ping of jealousy when she saw Ash hug Misty. But it faded away as she saw Ash and Brock fist bump.
"Hey Brock-O."
"What's up Ash?"
"Well, I'm just getting back from Kalos with some new friends." Ash said, gesturing towards the boy and girls. "This is Clemont, Serena, and Bonnie."
"Nice to meet you!" Misty said, offering her hand.
"Pleasure." Serena said, shaking her hand.
"Lunch is served!" Delia called.
Ash rushed into the kitchen, and excitedly awaited lunch.
After everyone was finished with lunch, they walked into the living room and just began to break into their own conversations. Delia and Samuel shared baby stories about Ash and Gary, Gary, Brock, and Ash discussed the most recent pokemon battle Ash had in Kalos, Clemont and Tracey talked about their different inventions and sketches, and Serena, Misty, and Bonnie talked about Arceus knows what.
"So, how is Ash doing?" Misty asked.
"He's doing well." Serena replied.
"You like him don't you…"
"Wha- no!"
"Don't lie. I can tell you like him. I used to, too. But I see him as more of a twin brother now."
"Yeah… I like him."
"How did you meet?"
Serena told Misty the story of how they met at a summer camp, and then reunited in Kalos.
"Wow. That's incredible. You two would be adorable together!"
Serena blushed.
Meanwhile…
"Ash," Gary said, "You've got to tell me who that hot chick is."
"That's Serena." Ash said, a bit confused.
"You're lucky you have a smokin' hot girlfriend like that."
Ash blushed. "She's not my girlfriend!"
"Sure she's not." Gary said.
Everyone seemed pretty happy until a huge boom was heard from outside. Everyone rushed out and saw a man holding an M16. That man was Giovanni. And next to him was Domino, holding a Desert Eagle.
"This is your last chance, Ketchum!" Giovanni yelled. "Give us Pikachu, or die!"
Ash stood there, not knowing what to do. "Go to Hell, asshole!"
Giovanni's face became angrier. He took the M16, and pointed it at the group of people. "Last chance…"
"Don't do it, Ash." Delia said.
"Pika!"
"Be careful with this guy…" rock told him.
"Don't die, Ashy-boy." Gary said, seriously.
"Pikachu, use Thunderbolt…" Ash whispered.
"Pikaaaaa…"
"Oh, no you don't!" Giovanni yelled. He pulled the trigger and shot the ground around their feet. "I'm serious! I want that fucking Pikachu. If I don't get it…you die!"
"Screw you." Ash said.
At first Giovanni frowned, but that frown quickly turned into a smirk. He pointed the gun at Delia, and pulled the trigger. He motioned for Domino to run to the woods, as Delia fell to the ground, blood leaking from her belly.
"MOM!" Ash screamed. He sprinted over to where his mom lay, as tears fell from his cheeks, and Pikachu's.
"Ash…" She said. "You need to go, Giovanni will kill you."
"NO! I WON'T LEAVE YOU LIKE THI-"
"LISTEN TO YOUR MOTHER!"
Ash stood back. "What am I supposed to do?"
"Ash…I love…." Nothing.
"Shit!" Ash screamed, holding his mother's body. Serena cried into Clemont's chest, while Misty and Brock ran over to see if there was anything they could do. Brock put a hand on Ash's shoulder, to which Ash embraced it. H looked down at his mother and saw her eyes open. He lightly placed his hands over her eyes and shut them. Her blood was dripping on to his clothes, but he was too sad and angry to notice. "Shit…"
"I hope you're happy!" Giovanni yelled. "If I can't have your Pikachu, your tears will do just fine!"
"I HATE YOU!" Ash screamed. There were no signs of tears on his face. Just anger. There was so much anger it scared his friends around him.
Giovanni just smiled an evil smile. "I hate you too, you piece of shit. I hope it was worth it to save a rodent over your mother."
"FUCK YOU!"
"Fuck you, too." And with that, Giovanni walked into the forest to find Domino, his trench coat flapping in the wind.
Ash looked down at his mother. "I will save your soul. I will avenge you."
