"Sssssinuousssss…." Adder hissed, looking around for her mate. The male snake had not returned from wherever he had went, and Adder was starting to worry.
Normally the female snake didn't worry about others, having been alone for most of her life, but when she had met Sinuous, it had been love. Even if the others didn't
see it, it was there.
"I'm back, Adder. Misssss me?" Sinuous hissed as he entered their "den". Adder let out a 'humph' and turned her head the other way, not wanting to acknowledge the
fact that she had indeed missed him. After years of being independent, Adder was still a little shy about tender feelings like 'love' and 'caring'. And especially shy about
showing them. "Adder, there'sssss no need to act cold to me. I know you care, but are nervousssss about showing affection towardsssss anyone." Sinuous sighed,
sliding into the hollow and next to his dear mate.
"I know, Sssssinuousssss." Adder hissed to her mate. Sinuous nuzzled her affectionately, and she returned the nuzzle, letting out a small hiss of comfort. "Sssssee? It
isssss not ssssso hard to show sssssome love." Sinuous chided her in a teasing tone, flicking her cheek with his tongue. "Sssssinuousssss, that ticklesssss." Adder
stated, pulling away slightly to avoid the tickle-like feeling. "Oh, it doesssss? Well then, I guessssss I cannot let you go ssssso easssssily." With that, Sinuous
advanced in his torture, getting closer to Adder and flicking her again. "Sssssinuousssss!" Adder exclaimed, starting to laugh. Sinuous began to laugh as well, a burst
of love for Adder erupting. This is the side of Adder that Sinuous loved to see. The side that wasn't being prickly to the other animals of Farthing Wood. The side that
only he got to see.
'Sssssinuousssss, please ssssstop. I would like to go to sssssleep now." Adder informed the other snake, managing to yawn between Sinuous' assaults. Sinuous
immediately stopped, letting out a yawn as well. Both snakes settled down for the night, Sinuous wrapping around Adder's coiled p body the best he could.
"Goodnight Adder. I love you." He hissed faintly before dozing off. Adder, having been getting more comfortable, did not hear Sinuous' snore, and murmured, "I love
you too," before closing her eyes. She felt Sinuous shift slightly, so she took it as a sign that he had heard her, and finally fell asleep, feeling warm from her love for
Sinuous.
