And now for another random drabble with a relative lack of plot. It's just a bit of Roy x Sophia fluff.

Disclaimer: I don't own Fire Emblem. If I did, Mark, Kris, and Robin wouldn't exist in their respective universes. Either that or they would be a set in stone character with personality so they wouldn't always be turned into Sues.

Little Comfort

Sophia calmly walked through the camp, the cold Ilian wind whipping her face. She wasn't used to the cold; Nabata was desert as far as the eye could see. She knew that Ilia used to be similar to Arcadia, but like almost everywhere else in Elibe, the peaceful coexistence between dragons and humans was ended by the Scouring. Sighing and shivering a little, she continued as she passed the command tent. At first, she didn't think much of what was happening in the tent. It was for Roy and a few important people whose names she didn't know to discuss upcoming battles. She began worrying when she heard soft sobbing coming from the tent's direction.

Quietly, Sophia walked over to the tent and peered inside. Roy was the only person present, seated alone while crying and fumbling with a necklace of some kind. He glanced up, apparently noticing Sophia, and hastily wiped away the tears before smiling. He calmly waved her over, putting away the necklace as he did so. Sophia hesitantly stepped into the tent, then walked over and sat next to Roy.

"Did you need something Sophia?" Roy asked cheerily.

"You… were crying…" Sophia said shyly.

"What are you talking about? Of course I wasn't…" Roy said, nervously averting his gaze.

"But I saw you… what's wrong? It's not… healthy… to hide emotions."

"It's nothing, really… just a bit of sentimentality…"

"Have you been to Ilia, Roy?"

"Not myself, but mother was born in Ilia."

"She was?"

"Yeah. She used to tell me all about her childhood with her little brother… Sometimes I wonder what happened to him. Probably dead like my mother…"

"You never… met your uncle?"

"I never really knew any of my maternal relatives."

Sophia swallowed. Twenty years ago, while she was looking for the Archsage Athos on Dread Isle, she had met a young partially-draconic boy with ice-blue hair and red eyes. When she had met Roy, the first thing she had noticed was how similar his aura was to that boy's, though he was less draconic. "I think… I met him."

"You did?"

"Yes, yes!" Sophia nodded excitedly. "We didn't talk very much, but I gave him a talisman."

"Oh." Roy glanced out of the tent. "I'd better be going now… I promised I'd help Wolt try and learn swordplay. Though I doubt it's for the best…" He laughed a little. "And, Sophia… thanks." He quietly stood up and left to look for Wolt.

"…You're welcome, Roy…" Sophia said quietly once he had left, feeling a bit of happiness at the idea that she had helped him be happier.

I told you it was fluffy! And now I've written stories pairing Roy with Lilina, Shanna, and Sophia. At the rate I'm going, I minuswell write for Roy x everybody!

I'm finally past Chapter 4 in Binding Blade. Seriously, that chapter felt impossible... until I dropped Chad on that pirate fort in the south to distract them. Was that seriously all I had to do?!
