I loved the idea of Hatsuharu and Kisa as a couple, so I decided to attempt a story about them. I don't own Fruits Basket, and I haven't finished it so be gentle. Please enjoy and make sure to review!
I gripped Haru-san's hand tightly in mine as Hatori carefully wrapped bandages around his head. Tears stung my eyes, but I held them back with great effort. I had to be strong for Haru-san and be his rock, just like he was mine. Everyone else was waiting outside of the door, anxiously waiting for the news. Hatori had wanted to send me out too, but I refused until he had finally given up and allowed me to stay in the room while he bandanged Haru-san up.
My eyes traveled to Haru-san's face, which looked pale and lifeless. He had always been my shoulder to cry on and always had an encouraging word to offer. I loved it when he would hold me in his arms and we would stare up at the clouds for hours, not saying word and just enjoying the company of each other. Now he was lying here with his eyes closed with the possibility that he would never open them again.
"Haru-san." I whispered, "Please wake up. For me, for Tohru, for everybody. You can't just save us and then leave this world. We need you. I need you."
Hatori paused and shot me a look of understanding that was filled with sadness. I smiled and buried my face into the covers, hiding the tears that now ran uncontrolled down my face. Akito. Akito was the one that did this. The thought bounced around in my mind and anger rumbled in my stomach. My mind went back to Akito's final moment, and I startled myself at the pleasure the memory gave me.
This was the beginning of the end and I'm going tell you how it all started….
