Yaone looked away from her window. She could see Kougaiji standing at the tree just below her window. 'He's chain smoking again. This is all my fault,' thought Yaone sadly. A knock was heard at the door. "Please enter," said Yaone. She knew, without turning her head, that it was her stepsister Lilin chan.
"One-chan… you must eat something. You can't starve yourself," said Lilin worriedly.
Yaone turned away from the window & smiled sadly at her sister. "Oh Lilin chan, you don't have to worry about me. I'll be fine. Mmm… I'm not hungry. Would you like to have my lunch instead?"
Although Lilin's appetite was well known, she shook her head. "Nay, I'm full. I just had lunch with Goku."
Hearing Hakkai's brother's name, Yaone turned her head towards the window once more but this time, her eyes were focused on the mountains. "Lilin chan, please, leave me alone. I… I like to be alone for a while."
Lilin nodded & left her sister's room. When she reached the bottom of the staircase, she saw Goku's questioning eyes & shook her head. Goku nodded & sigh. He took out his cell phone & called his brother.
"Ni-san, she's still not eating. So, do you want me to do anything else?"
"No. It's ok. Thank you so much," said Hakkai to his younger brother. He sighed & looked towards the mountains. It was his fault. 'Why did I have to kiss her? She had already chosen Kougaiji isn't it? But I just can't help it. She looked so beautiful at that moment. I just had to kiss her there & then,' thought Hakkai guiltily.
On the other hand, Kougaiji swore under his breath when he saw Goku. He narrowed his eyes on the small boy. 'Damn Hakkai! That stupid bastard must have done something to my Yaone. She's acting so weird recently. Now she is even avoiding me. Our wedding is due in a month's time & now this!' Kougaiji's thoughts were interrupted by Lilin's high-spirited greetings.
"Oni-san! Are you here to see ne-chan? She's in her room. You want to go in?" asked Lilin excitedly. Goku snorted & looked away. He supported his brother, Hakkai, wholeheartedly. Kougaiji ignored Goku completely & smiled at Lilin warmly.
"I was about to go in anyway. You take care of yourself & have fun. Here's some money for your snack," said Kougaiji kindly.
"Yeah! Ni-san's the best! Come on Goku, let's go!" shouted Lilin happily.
Kougaiji smiled & watched as the two children raced each other to the bus stop. His smile turned into a slight frown when he spotted Yaone near the door with her face down. He sighed & walked towards his beloved fiancee.
Yaone looked up just when Kougaiji reached her. "Hi," she greeted him listlessly.
"Yaone," said Kougaiji quietly, "is anything the matter? You have been avoiding me these few days. Is anything the matter? Ka-san & To-san had been asking for you these few days. It's unlike you not to visit us."
"Kou, please just come in first. I have something to tell you," replied Yaone in a monotone.
Kougaiji nodded & followed Yaone into the house.
