Chapter 1: When Did I Get Here?

Have you ever had a headache? Not just a normal headache, but, like, a migraine or something? Okay, now just imagine that headache, but multiply the sensation by maybe 100. I dunno, a number at least. When you have the sensation of getting your head split open going, now imagine waking up in some bedroom that you didn't fall asleep in. Got it? Good. That was me right about then. Of course, it only got worse after that.

After waking up to that fine feeling, I was less than aware of my surroundings. I think my eyes were fused shut thanks to the strained nature of feeling that pain imbues. It wasn't much later when I did realize where I was. I wasn't at home, in my room, the comforting sensation of technology around me. I was in a hotel room. Or, what looked like a hotel room. I haven't traveled enough to know all the different flavors of hotel room décor. Anyways, so I was just sitting there, scratching my head and checking out the weird things on my ankles that weren't there, and on the inside having an all-out freak-out. Then this voice comes over the loudspeaker, sounding like a guy in an infomercial trying to sell soap, saying "We here at Aperture Science would like to thank you for your cooperation. About know, you might be wondering a lot of things, such as 'Where am I?', or 'Where did these things on my ankle come from?'. We would like to assure you, you are fine. Now, we will begin the testing period. Please, keep your hands in feet close to your body. And Happy Testing!"
