Merry Chrismas to those who celebrated it 19 days ago. I'm super sorry this story is so late. And I would especially like to apologize to my secret santa person that I'm giving this to. I'm sorry. I really hope you like this story and again, sorry, if the ending sucks. I'm not good at those. But anyways here you are. Also Thanks McBreezy for reminding me. :)

Gillian walked in on Cal just as he was putting something away. "What was that?" She asked walking closer to his desk.

He closed his desk drawer and locked it, "Nothing," he said matter of factly. "What were you going to tell me?" He was now leaning on his chair.

She eyed him suspiciously, "Um, have you signed the papers I gave you earlier yet?"

He sighed and said, "Yes Gillian, I signed the papers already and let me tell you that that was the most boring hour of my life." She smiled sitting down in the chair across from him.

"Let me see them then," there was a slight hint of amusement in her voice.

"Why?" He asked. She looked exasperated and stood up.

"Cal give them to me when you've signed them alright? Don't lie to me, knowing full well that I was going to ask for them." Gill started walking away.

"No. Stay and I'll sign them right now," he said almost desperately unlocking his drawer and pulling out a stack of file folders. She could see there was a red box with a green ribbon wrapped around it inside but didn't say anything. They were silent for almost 5 minutes when Gill spoke up again.

"So…what was that in your drawer?" She asked casually.

"Nothing, just some papers and…stuff." He didn't look up to see her reaction.

She rolled her eyes and stood up to walk, "Just call me when you're done. I'll be in my office."

"Fine."

It was closing in on Christmas Eve in Washington and The Lightman Group was gathered inside the main entrance of the building celebrating the Christmas party. While Ria and Loker were talking near the Christmas tree, Gillian was looking around for Cal. She spotted him as he was leaving his office. "Where are you going?"

"Just coming out here to mingle and all that."

Gillian decided it was best to just get to the point. "Why are you acting all suspicious and what was in the drawer in your desk?"

"So many questions, love. I can only answer one at a time."

"It was just two. And answer both."

"Gillian, it won't be a surprise until Christmas morning. I can't ruin it for you, I know how much you love surprises." He started towards the punch on the table. "Is this spiked?"

She sighed, "No Cal, it's not spiked and I don't like surprises." She looked determined to get her answers so he grabbed her by the hand and led her into his office.

"I'll just ruin it for you then." He walked around to his desk, opened the drawer and got out the present she had seen earlier. Cal turned towards her with the present held up to her face so she couldn't see his. "Merry Christmas, love." Although his posture looked annoyed, his voice sounded quiet and sweet.

She was speechless. She knew that the present was for her because of his behavior and deflection to her questions. But she never actually thought about what she was going to say when she received it. "Oh…Cal." She sat down on the couch in his office and neatly unwrapped the box. Inside there was a necklace with a heart shaped pendant. In the middle was a green stone circled by small white diamonds. Gillian picked up the necklace and looked to Cal with tears in her eyes. "Thank you."

"I knew you'd love it darling." He said while assisting her in putting it on. When she turned around he hugged her but it was her that kissed him first.
