I had time, i just didn't give it to her. I made myself seem like i had no time left in the world for her. What i got out of it was not what i wanted. It's not what i wanted to happen to either of us. Was it inevitable, i'm not sure myself. But all i know is that shes no longer there waiting for me.
"Teppei. When are you coming home?" "Sorry im not sure practice is going on really intense Luna. Just eat without me ok. Im sorry."
I've said those two words so often i already knew she was tired of hearing me apologize for not making an effort to our relationship.
"Teppei, im going." *click*
~"Luna?" Moving his arm around the bed they shared Teppei was unable to find who he was looking for. Opening his eyes Teppei looked to the side where she always slept. Seeing her body no longer there Teppei took his phone calling her to see where she had gone.
"Luna, where did you go?" "Im going to work. You were still asleep i didn't want to bother you Teppei. I know your tired from practice and you just want to sleep in during the weekends. Ill see you when im off ok. Are you able to pick me up from work?" "I don't know yet will see because some of the guys want to go play basketball later. Im sorry if i can't pick you up though."
That's how most weekends were. Her going to work, me going out to play basketball, and leaving her home alone…. as usual.
"Luna let's go on a date. I don't have practice today, and it's Friday too." "No." Looking to her with wide eyes Teppei wasn't expecting the sudden rejection to his request. "Why not?" "Because you might have practice today even if you guys are scheduled to not you might suddenly, and i don't want to hear you call me or tell me that you can't make it."
She was right. She was always right when it came to practice. She was also right when she said i would either call or tell her that i can't make it. I've done it so many times that she doesn't even want to go on a date with me.
"Luna do i make you happy?" "Yes, why do you ask?" Wrapping his arms around his petite lover as they lay in bed. "Just a bad dream. How do i make you happy?" "We're still together are we not?" Nodding his head was Teppei's answer to his small lover that made his mind and heart at ease.
She was the one who comforted me during those times or just when the day was bad or we lost a game. She was my haven. She took it all away, the things i couldn't take away. But when i couldn't take it away from her i stayed by her side till the end.
"Hello, are you Kiyoshi Teppei?" "Yes this is him." "We are calling regarding your lover she has been hit by a car and were not sure if she is going to make it. She is in Akarusa hospital right now."
Everything spun. My little world was turning upside down and spiraling out of control. When i reached the hospital i ran straight to her room. Inside that room she was covered in bandages, bloody bandages. I sat by her side taking her hand in mine the tears threatening to come.
"Teppei?" "Luna its me." Smiling Luna opened her eyes weakly to look at her lover. "Teppei, im so tired." "It's going to be ok Luna. We have all the time right now to make you better." Smiling Luna turned her head back looking up to the ceiling. "It's seem as though now you have time for me. But im sorry, it seems as though im running out of time." Embracing her Teppei wanted this moment to never end for time to stop just right there so they can be together like forever. "Im sorry for not making time." "Teppei you always had time. You used it wisely for something you can't replace, even with me by your side you can't replace the love you have for a sport. Even if i was mad or upset that you would always go to basketball instead of spending time with me. You choose to follow and become better at something you love so passionately. I envied basketball, because sometimes i wished you would love me as passionately as well." Letting the tears flow now Teppei held her close as he felt her arms wrap around her slowly and weakly. "I love you Luna. Basketball can't replace you. It can't tell call my name, tell me it loves me, it's not you Luna. If it's not you, i don't want to love anyone else." Pulling away from his grasp Teppei looked into her eyes kissing her weakly as he held her up supporting her body. "My Teppei. I'll always cherish the little moments we've spent because those were enough to make me fall in love with you all over again." Planting one last kiss to her lover Luna took her last breath.
It's been four years since that happened. Today marked the anniversary of her death. February 9 also her birthday.
"Teppei, where are you going. We have practice today." "Sorry guys i have to take this day off today. I'll see you guys tomorrow." With that Teppei left the gym flowers in hand. Her favorite flowers.
"Where's Kiyoshi-senpai going?" "He's going to her." "Should we go follow him secretly." Nodding their heads the whole team went to follow Kiyoshi as he walked to her grave.
Arriving to her grave sight Kiyoshi smiled softly and sat down in front of her grave placing the hydrangeas a top. "Happy birthday lovely. It's been so long, four years. Four years without you. Where has the time gone."
"Who's he talking to?" "To his late lover Hotohori Luna. She died in a car accident. They dated for about 4 years before she got into the accident."
"If only you weren't out of time, i would show you the members, my friends, and the new recruits. Who i have become today Luna. I miss you. I want to see you. I want to be with you. I still love you Luna. Even though four years have passed i can't stop loving you and missing you. My little one. I miss you. I'll treasure the times i have with the people i love now, before it's too late Luna. Can i reverse your time even if just a little so i can be with you again. Can i stop your time so you won't ever leave me. One day, we wont have to ever worry about time. One day Luna."
