Disclaimer: Kim Possible and Ron Stoppable belong to Disney. I'm just borrowing them for a little fun.
"And now, please welcome to the dance floor—"
"In their first dance ever as husband and wife—"
"Mr. and Mrs. Stoppable!"
Enthusiastic applause mingled with the opening strains of a familiar song. Kim placed her hands on Ron's shoulders and smiled as they began to sway to the music. She was still certain that by the end of the night she was going to regret allowing the tweebs to DJ… but she had to admit that they were off to a pretty spankin' start.
Then she gazed into Ron's adoring eyes and quickly forgot all about Jim and Tim—not to mention everyone else in the world.
"Remember our first first dance?"
"Of course!" Ron grinned. "Our third day of Pre-K. You danced a mean hokey pokey, KP."
"Ron," she groaned, giving his shoulder a playful swat. "You know what I meant."
"Yeah, I do," he said, his smile turning wistful. "Y'know, back then I thought no one could ever look as beautiful to me as you did that night."
"Back then, huh?" Kim raised an eyebrow. "And what about now?"
"Now? Oh, well, don't get me wrong—Kim Possible was amazing. Girl of my dreams, really." He held her closer. "But she's got nothing on Kim Stoppable."
Beaming, she wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled his lips down to hers.
When she finally pulled back to catch her breath, Kim realized something. "Ron?"
"Hmm?" he murmured, all contentment.
"When did the music stop?"
"Huh?" Ron's eyes flew open and his head snapped up. Sure enough, the song had ended, and their friends and family were staring on indulgently. Ron grinned sheepishly and Kim blushed as they finally stopped moving and stepped apart.
"Ahem." Tim's voice came over the speakers. "If you two lovebirds are finished now—"
"Let's get this party started!" Jim shouted. A fast song began blasting from the speakers and guests streamed onto the dance floor around Ron and Kim.
"I guess we should mingle," Kim said reluctantly.
"I guess so."
Before they could do anything, though, a little voice shouting "Ronnie!" gave them just enough warning to prepare for the 45-pound bundle of pure energy wrapped in blue taffeta that flew into his arms a second later.
"Hana!" Ron shouted, swinging his sister up into the air. "You did great back there, Flower Girl!"
The five-year-old giggled and wrapped her arms around his neck. "You did great, too!"
"Heh, thanks." He chuckled. "I even managed to keep my pants on!"
Kim grinned evilly. That was an opening she just couldn't resist. She leaned over and whispered in his ear, "We'll just have to make up for that later tonight."
And with that, she turned and walked off into the crowd—time for mingling. But she couldn't resist a quick glance over her shoulder to make sure she'd hit her mark.
Sure enough, Ron was blushing from the base of his neck to the tips of his ears and staring after her with his goofiest grin.
Oh yeah, she thought as she turned back around. Kim Possible's got nothing on Kim Stoppable.
A/N: Hey there, just finding my feet in the KP fanfic world with something short and (hopefully) sweet. Reviews are much appreciated!
