in a dream,
which,
one day,
came true.
A
swirl
of
brilliant
ruby light,
sleek,
brown hair
cascading down
mahogany eyes
reflecting mine.
I loved her,
with all my heart,
and cherished
her beautiful spirit
in my soul.
But she loved him;
and for that,
I fell,
grasping my broken heart
in one hand
and my shattered dreams
in the other.
Her returning
the strength of my feelings,
all of those
are now but just
remnants
of a now-forgotten
childhood dream,
but yet,
I,
a man,
now taught
that not everything
in this world
can be his,
has vowed
to love her,
the maiden,
and to always
continue
loving
her
still.
