Scorpius Malfoy made his way to the trees bordering the forbidden forest. He had arrived only a few days ago at Hogwarts and already he loved it. He touched the stone gently staring at the names upon the stone. A memorial to the students that had died in the last battle. There were names that would never be there. Names that had died for what they believed in. Boys and men alike who wanted to preserve the traditions of the wizarding world.
Scorpius touched the stone and started to cry. His father's name would have never been on this stone, nether would his grandfather's. They thought they were so right and pure but really they were just another side of the same gallon. They would never put the names of the people who who had died on this stone because they had been on opposite sides. Already the young Malfoy knew that the world was unequal and had faced pregidcies every time that he went on the streets. He could not help but wonder what would have happened if voldemort had won? He touched the rock gently feeling the cold stone as cold and dead as the young men and women it represented. They may of been Mudbloods but they had families as he did. His uncle Vincent would never have his name put on this stone, he would only be a name soon, without the memories of his father and grandfather. He had relations in Azcaband just because they were on the wrong side, prisoners of war rotting in cells.
Another approched the stone and Scorpius hid behind the stone so that no one would see the tears upon his face. He heard weeping and saw a shock of red hair. He realized then that he wasn't very diffrent from the boy who was crying for someone he had never known. Scorpius gently fingered the stone, and silently added the list of names that should be there, should be remembered but weren't. He waited until the young red haired man had gone back to the castle before he too returned. Everyone had lost someone important to them in the last war. War distroyed their world better than any other thing.
"Hey Snake, go slither back to where you belong." A hufflepuff student said and Scorpius felt himself grow angry. He didn't even know the older boy and yet he was being insulted.
"As I belong here it would be a bit hard to go back to where I belong." Scorpius replied and went to the Slytherin table. Here he was safe, here he was among family, here he was home.
