A/N: This is my first piece of CSI related writing since season two
aired, and my first csi based poem. I wrote the first two lines about
ten years ago for another poem that never got written and they came
back to me while I was reading some G/S stories, and turned into this.
I guess it really could be about any pair of geeks realizing they're in
love. It started as Sara pov, but I don't think it is anymore. This is
still an early draft, so input is greatly appreciated. Please review.
The world you see is not mine
Nor the universe I live in yours
Strangers
Connected through strangeness
and accidents of geography
Misunderstood and invisible
We touch each other
and our lives just tremble.
Who am I?
God only knows.
But could there be a bond
in all the unknown universe
To make this moment real
A piece of humanity
In all our science and schemes.
Seeking to understand everything,
We fail the vital puzzle.
My heart thunders
Gunfire in my chest
Wounding and healing
Rest there in your grasp.
Breathe in and breathe out
You look for words.
Is that a spark in your eye?
Or maybe you're blind.
Can I make you see?
I'm looking
Through this other place between us
Come with me
Where we can talk, communicate
See.
Talk is just words, but you see now
I see now.
Fear, doubt, pain,
Science in its simplicity
I see them all.
I wear them too.
Beetles or vectors
All beautiful, all real
All fake, not here.
What other world could I know?
Forces, electricity, quantum mechanics
Meets larvae, spiders, ladybugs
and two sparks ignite dry kindling.
In this world of human beings
Neither knows the rules
Fumbling along, we're equal.
Accidental touch
Prolong into embrace.
Sparks to kindling to fire.
Chemistry, physics
Biology.
Love?
Lightning with a kiss,
It never ends
For hours, minutes, years
A moment.
Separated, in agony,
Time stretches eternal
Stops in the perfect moment
In my own world lonely
But no longer alone.
You see my world
Just a glimpse
As I enter your universe.
Together, we are alone
Ablaze.
Intertwined, interlocked.
Interesting.
