Ino's New Prey
Summary: ~Mid-time skip~ Ino sits down with Sakura and talks about crushes
Ino and her best friend Sakura were taking a break from their medical ninjutsu training at a small ice cream shop across from her family's flower shop. Ino looked dramatically depressed, and Sakura had noticed.
"Are you okay, Ino?" she asked as she licked her strawberry ice cream cone.
"You wanna know what sucks?" Ino answers.
"Umm sure?" Sakura raised an eyebrow.
"There is no decent boy for me to crush on!" she exclaims. "Sasuke's gone, so he's out. Shikamaru is a good friend of mine, so that would be awkward. Besides, he's Temari's territory, anyways."
"Yeah," her friend agreed. "They might not know it yet, but they both are taken."
"By each other," she added to make it clearer.
"Yeah."
"Getting back to the matter at hand," she started again, "Chouji is a friend, too, so that's not gonna work. Naruto… I would never date that brat, and he's Hinata's."
"Did you know they started going out?" Sakura asked.
"No way!" Ino exclaimed. "That's so cute!"
"I know, right?"
"Poor Kiba, thought," she pondered. "I think he likes Hinata…"
"Actually, Kiba and I are going out," Sakura answered, blushing and not looking Ino in the eye.
"WHAT?" the blonde exclaimed. "And you didn't even tell me?
"It never crossed my mind."
Ino narrowed her eyes. "We'll talk about this later. How about Shino? Didn't he like Hinata too?"
"Shino's concentrating on his training right now," Sakura denied. "I don't think he's really interested in girls at all at the moment."
She groaned. "Not that I would want to touch him with a five foot pole," she disclaimed, "but I'm running out of people to like."
"What about Neji?" the pinkette offered.
"Uhm, Tenten has got dibs on him. Didn't you know that they're dating?"
"No way, they are?"
"Yepp," she confirmed. "Have been for a week now."
"Good job, Tenten."
"I don't do long distance, so Kankuro and Gaara are out too. That only leaves.." She paused as she watched the older shinobi in his green clad outfit that was similar to his sensei as he did his third lap around the village that after noon. Her eyes narrowed, having found her new target. "Him."
