Anais' Reflection
Written by CB
Based off of "Car Radio" by Twenty-One Pilots.
Anais, the most ignored had finally left. Years and years, ignored and barely paid attention to, except being favored by her mother; she didn't mind at all, but there was something else she seeked from her mother.
Love.
Being intelligent, people thought she was too smart for her age. She was always that girl, quiet and seemed distant but really, she was just longing for acceptance and not being praised so much. At age 19, you'd think she'd be a scientist or have won a Nobel Peace Prize or something, but she just felt that all purpose had been lost. In Elmore, people were either too dumb or too smart. Billy seemed to be favorable, but in reality, he was only being her friend because he felt bad for her.
I ponder of something great
My lungs will fill and then deflate
They fill with fire, exhale desire
I know it's dire my time today.
She endlessly stared in front of her, as the car she was driving was full of things; horrid things that brought her to tears, but chose to bring with her. Childhood keepsakes, not much but the few that she had managed to take with her, before waking up her mother. She sighed in discomfort. The one thing she had chucked off the highway in pure hatred, was Daisy The Donkey. She laughed as the stuffed animal was seen flying away.
I have these thoughts
So often I ought
To replace that slot
With what I once bought
'Cause somebody stole
My car radio
And now I just sit in silence
She looked around, now driving East from Elmore. Goodbye, Elmore, California. She remembered how much Gumball had teased her for being smart; Anais knew about his brain-damage in the womb, but she never said a word about it to him, just to leave him be. The story goes;
Nicole had been drinking vicariously. Partying hard and smoking. What she didn't know that she was pregnant by her then-boyfriend, Richard. She had been throwing up and having weird cravings for about two weeks now. Refusing to see the doctor, she had just decided it was something she ate that had spoiled. When the cravings, nausea, missing the monthly mark, and mood swings had gotten unbearable, she finally went to see the doctor. She was dumbfounded when the doctor had told her that she was pregnant; she thought she was infertile, same as her sister. "Seems that you'll be one big happy family," she said, putting down her clipboard. Nicole, however, wasn't too fond of the idea. She tried drinking bleach, and other methods to try and kill him, but the only thing that happened, was brain damage.
Anais didn't know where she was going, but she was sure as hell that she was going to change her life. Her iPod was dead, and she didn't want to charge it, but she thought music understood her.
And it did.
