I closed my eyes as tears rolled down my cheeks.
He was gone.
I hadn't been able to do anything. This hit us harder than anything else.
When I closed my eyes, I still saw his face.
He was stronger than most his age.
When he went to really fly with the angels, he said not a ord, did not cry out, and did not falter in his job.
Death was instintaneous, so at least he didn't feel any pain, only saw his life ending as the bullet sliced through the air towards him.
My little trooper was gone. I still had a hard time believing Gasman no longer among us.
He would neer walk this earth again as flesh and bones.
I heard dirt hit his coffin as Fang and Iggy buried him in the forest floor.
I heard Angel comforting Nudge.
Poor Nudge, they finally had a steady relationship, and suddenly he's gone.
After we had said our parts we headed back to the house we were currently staying in.
I was in 'my' room staring at the cieling thinking of Gazzy, when I suddenly heard a scream downstairs and a crash. I raced downstairs, and saw Nudge and Angel staring at a shattered glass on the floor.
I looked up from the floor and nearly screamed.
Gazzy was translucent, floating by the table.
"I came to say goodbye," he whispered.
I couldn't move, and slowly realized there was a loud keening sound, it took a moment longer for me torealize it was me.
Fang and Iggy raced down immediatly, and then froze when they followed my gaze.
"I can't stay long. I just wanted say goodbye. Max, you were always like a mom to me, and I hope you live a long life. Fang, you may not have realized but you're a dad to us pretty much, take care of Max. Iggy, the awesome brother, my best friend. keep making those bombs my bro. Nudge, I love you, I'm sorry we didn't have time for our relationship to grow, it's okay to move on, I want you to be loved, even if I can't be the one to loe you. Angel, I'm always your big brother, grow up beautiful."
We were all touched Gazzy had come to say good bye.
Nudge bounded up and hugged him, pecking on his clear, pale cheek.
"I have to go. I'll be watching from heaven."
He faded from view, and we knew he was resting in peace.
