This was kind of based off a canoe trip I went on, I saw this guy who looked like the male hero of X and Y! As a note, in this their sunglasses aren't sunglasses, they're just glasses someone uses if they need them to see better.
I'm sitting at the wooden table, the river only five feet away flowing, and my book at hand. I turn a page as I glance to the side. He's looking.
When I came over here I noticed him, he had been fishing when I noticed him, I had thought that the brown haired boy's glasses were cute on him, and immediately went back to my reading, before looking over a few minutes later, noticing him looking at me.
Starting then I knew that he was playing the game, the game that only we knew.
I shut my book, my gold hair swinging behind me, as my mother calls me; our friends just arrived as they had been going down the river. She tells me to get one of her bags for her. I smile all the while; after all, he is still there.
We would be leaving within the hour, so I had needed to make several trips to get our things, on the way back on my last trip he was walking my way, heading to a spot behind me.
As he nears my fingers graze the edge of my hat. My eyes went first to the ground, then to him as I smiled at him. We played this game alone, but with each other.
I didn't see him again after that moment, but I knew I would not forget.
As I sat in the van, the others speaking animatedly around me, I thought about him. No one noticed my silence as I wasn't known for talking too much.
We drove off, I knowing that I would never see him again, after all this was a one day trip.
It's interesting, right?
