This is my first fanfiction so if I do something wrong, that would be why. Anyhow, enjoy the story.

The Capitol – 21:39

Dominic sat alone in the shadowy Gamemakers room preparing the finishing touches on the traps in the arena. He looked over onto his arena, the arena he created with every ounce of his mind. If President Snow felt Dominic's arena unfit, all the arenas would be too. He was afraid of the infamous death of the gamemakers due to the games being unfit. His games were not unfit.

"So," President Snow said in his strong and piercing voice to Dominic. "Is it finished?"

Dominic felt as if all his secrets and past had just been thrown out into the open whenever he was around President Snow. He knew President Snow knew everything about everyone all the time. Especially when you're Head Gamemaker.

"Almost sir, I just need to make certain touches to make it perfect." Dominic said with his voice slightly quivering, to where it the quivering was barley noticeable. He turned around to face President Snow, with his swooping violet hair standing very still due to a multitude of hairspray, standing like a wave frozen in time. His golden eyes with microscopic spokes of silver in his irises, like spokes on the wheel of a bicycle moved quite frequently as if this were a life or death situation, which it was.

"Well, hurry before the games come. We don't want to postpone the games, now do we?" President Snow in a menacing manner.

"Yes s-sir..." Dominic said quite nervously. "It will be finished before sunrise." Dominic was absolutely terrified of what seemed like the inevitable.

"Good, good." President Snow pulled out a holograph player out of his back pocket and handed it to Dominic. "This is the list of all the tributes. It has all their files on it and all their known information. Use it wisely when doing the finishing touches on the arena will you?"

"Yes sir. I will sir." Dominic said in an even more nervous tone.

"Please, call me President Snow. It makes it sound like you aren't afraid of me." President Snow said with a sly smile walking out of the room.

Dominic felt relief and fear come over his body at the exact same time. How does he know that? Is it that obvious? He thought. "Hmm...Oh well. I need to look at the tribute files anyway. I should stop worrying and just get it over with." Dominic went over to the holograph and pressed the on button.

The holograph displayed a blue light with two options plastered on the light screen. The options were tributes and off. Dominic pressed tributes and a list a tributes popped up on the screen. Dominic read through all of them very carefully with interest. "This is very interesting. A fear of bugs? Hmm..." After reading through them all Dominic went straight to work with the arena. "This will be the best Hunger Games yet. Just you wait President Snow, I will show you that I am worthy."
