Cold and alone. Shattered and destroyed. His life ending right before his eyes. One second he was laughing, happy and having a time of his life, the next second everything is buried in the ground.

Mother dead. Father dead. Twin dead. Leaving him alone in the cold cruel world. Why did this happen? why him? what did he do to deserve this? Just after his father told him and his brother they were perfect their life ended. Was it a coincidence or fate?

Life is unfair for now he is all alone.

Why did he not die? why was he left here? Why couldn't death take him too?

His body aching, he rose from the snow covering his frail body, shivering like crazy as he crawled to his mother's bloody limp form. He touched her but she was frozen solid as though carved of eyes. He shook her violently but no response.

Fear consuming him, he scampered to his father and did the same but no prevail as they were lost.

Tired, cold, tears flowing down his cheeks, he moved to his twin, his best friend and confidant.

Though, they were the opposite of the other, they trusted eachother with their lives. The bond they had could rarely be found in twins. The confidence, love, trust and their team work was what made them the perfect duo.

"Astuya" Shirou whimpered, though he knew his brother would not respond, not now, not ever.

"Shirou..." came a barely audible voice.

Shirou's eyes widened as he looked down at his brother's face whose almost misty eyes gazed at him.

"Astuya" was all he could say before he burst into tears, clutching his twin's chest like a life line.

"Stop crying I am not dead yet" Astuya muttered, grinning, though he was dying he kept his attitude to support his elder brother. To boost his confidence and so that he doesn't try anything stupid.

Shirou wiped his eyes, giving his brother a watery smile. "Shirou, you have to be strong... you have to con...continue...living...please...live for the both of us..." Astuya choked, his heart now aching as he gasped for air, trying to fight death from taking his soul.

Tears once again flowing down his cheeks, he shook his head defiantly as he clutched the younger boy's hand.

"No, please! please Astuya! I am begging you! don't leave me! I don't want to be alone" the elder twin begged.

"Gomen, live... be perfect...perfect just like dad said."

"But we're perfect together! I can't be perfect without you!"

"Don't worry, I'll be with you. Trust me...promise me...promise..." Astuya's body twitched before his body went limp as death conquered his soul.

"I promise...we will be perfect"

He was now alone. In this world. But he had a target now, to be perfect. His life though shattered now but it was taking a new form. Re-constructing itself like the light of dawn signaling a new day
