Maybe she was being silly. Irrational, even. Even if she was far from the only one not to like Zuko right away it was still obvious he was telling the truth. He wasn't sneaky like his sister, if he'd intended to hurt them he would have done it already. Right?

Sooner or later they'd have to get to like him, obviously, it would be bad for morale if the group didn't get along. And maybe Zuko was exactly what Aang needed in a Firebending teacher. He wasn't suddenly such a nice guy, but he'd been more help to them than anyone had expected.

"Maybe I'm being too hard on him. I should give him another chance..." Part of her wanted to like him, wanted them to become friends. They almost had once, after all.

That's something we have in common. Her hand drifted to her necklace and she closed her eyes, her mind flashing back to that day. She and Zuko relating to each other as people, him considering letting go of his so-called destiny and choosing another...Zuko, suddenly rushing to join his sister's side, the crack of lightning, Aang falling.

She clutched her necklace and shook her head, angry tears swimming in her eyes.

"No," she whispered. "I don't care if he is good now or if he becomes everyone's best friend tomorrow. I just can't..."

She hugged her knees to her chest and stared up at the night sky. Maybe someday, but not now.
