Once upon a time
In the land of sunshine
A little girl named Lily chased
Her dear young friend who's name was Ace
Over the fields and through the trees
They were, you might say, as think as thieves
Run through the towns and past the seas
And then got tired and rested on some leaves
"Dear Lily" Ace asked as they lay
"Why don't we both just run away?"
But little Lily looked confused
"Where will we go? What will we do?"
Ace laughed and threw his hands up in the air
"Why, we could go most anywhere!"
He told her of what the elders had seen
Of sprites pink and goblins green!
Of all the lands that they might see
"And maybe even the Fairy,"
"No silly," said the little girl.
"You know those stories aren't for real."
Ace smiled and said, "Oh but they are;
These stories of the land afar.
Now, shall we venture past sunshine?
She took his hand, "If you'd be so inclined."
And so they traveled over the lands
Scavenging the world hand in hand
Seeing all that they could see
Until they reached the Fairy.
They wandered up to her home
And bowed before her upon her throne
"We have traveled far and wide to see
No one other than my queen, Fairy."
She looked before them in wonder
"And how far have you come to wander?"
Lily stared entirely wide- eyed
And Ace looked on and simply replied,
"Oh my lord, the great divine.
We come from the land of sunshine"
"And is there something here you wish to receive?"
Lily spoke "we only wish everyone to know of you and believe.
To know of all we have seen and heard,
But we fear they won't believe our word."
She smiled at first and then looked back gravely.
"I apologize but I can't help thee.
This can resort to catastrophe.
It's been proven throughout history.
Please you must listen to me."
"We understand," said little Lily.
The Fair then perked up and smiled
"There is one thing I may do, my child.
I will tell you tales that have been passed onto me
"And so upon a time" said the fairy
Finishing with "the end" "Now when all else fails
You may recite my fairy tales."
And so, that's how it's come to be
Starting with Ace and Lily
Telling stories to folk and friend
Finishing each story with the term 'the end'.
