"You're late." Lucy stated.
Natsu turned to face her, his dark eyes tired, a deep frown on his lips.
"Aren't I always?"
Pursing her lips, Lucy nodded. She brushed a strand of golden hair behind her ear and sighed in defeat, standing from the red armchair she had been occupying during the hour-and-half she had been awaiting Natsu's return.
"Goodnight, Natsu."
He didn't reply, just stood there with his fingers rubbing his temple, contemplating how to higher his business stocks.
Smiling sadly, Lucy walked down the hall and opened the door to her/his/their bedroom and closed the door after she had gone in. She raised a slim hand to her hair and loosened it from its tight ponytail, walking to the wooden dresser and grabbing a random nightgown. She changed quickly and went to bed.
Goodnight, Lucy.
It was 2:00p.m. and he was at work, preparing for an important business meeting with a valuable business associate.
"Mr. Dragneel, sir?" A timid brunette addressed the CEO with a shy smile.
Running a hand through his hair, Natsu gave the woman a pointed look, urging her to hurry the hell up and talk.
The woman turned her hazel orbs to the ground. "Your wife is here to see you, Sir."
Natsu sighed. "What does she need?"
"She brought you lunch."
Rolling his eyes, Natsu shooed the woman away. "Tell Lucy I'll eat it when I get home."
"B-but, Sir!"
"Go." Natsu ordered.
The brunette nodded her affirmative and skittered off.
"How about we go on a trip, just me and you?" Lucy asked Natsu the next morning as they ate their breakfast.
Natsu raised his eyebrows. "When?"
"How about next week?"
Frowning a bit, Natsu shook his head.
"Next month?"
"Can't, work needs me."
Plastering on a fake smile, Lucy stood from the table and took her plate to the sink. "Nevermind then."
Natsu left on a business trip a week later.
When he came back, he found an empty dresser with divorce papers on top.
