It was 5:03am that Tuesday. Pam couldn't wait any longer. She needed to know. Now.
She chewed on her bottom lip as she paced back and forth in her bathroom. Back and forth, back and forth she walked. Three steps forward, turn, three steps back the other way. If she had paced any more, she could have easily worn a spot away on her tiled floor. Her breathing was short and irregular. She glanced over at the kitchen timer that was placed on the bathroom counter next to the sink. 45 seconds to go. She walked to the bathroom door and opened it slightly. She looked out into her bedroom trying not to draw any of the bathroom light into her room. Pam could sort of see that lanky body of Jim Halpert sprawled ontop of the blankets on her bed. He was only wearing his boxers and his hair was a total mess. But Pam liked it that way anyways. She slowly closed the door and sat on the edge of the tub. She couldn't keep her feet still as she held her head in her hands. She began biting her index finger nail when she looked up at the timer. 10 more seconds. She took a deep breath. Now 8. She noticed she was ever so slightly shaking, however, she wasn't cold at all. She stared at that timer until the loud buzz went off. Even though the noise didn't scare her, she jumped when she heard it anyway. She slowly got up off the tub and turned the timer off, praying it didn't wake up Jim. She looked at herself in the bathroom mirror as she leaned on the counter. She bit her lip again when she looked down at the turned over white stick. She swallowed the lump in her throat and carefully pick it up. As if she were in slow motion, she turned the stick over to see the reading. Blue + sign, she thought to herself. "Blue plus sign?" she whispered out loud. She quickly went over to the garbage and rummaged through Kleenex and tissues until she found the box she was looking for. Pam picked it up and read it over carefully. She stood back up and looked back at herself in the mirror. Box in one hand, test in the other. "Blue plus sign" she mouthed to herself in the mirror. Suddenly, Pam Beesley went as white as a ghost.
She was indeed, pregnant.
