A/N: If you follow me on Twitter, you may have seen a shorter version of this story on there. That's where I first created this short fic, and I decided to edit it and actually make it something, so... Here we are.
Kurt sat curled into a ball on his bed, his face buried in his knees as he cried. He hated staining his designer jeans with his salty tears, but he couldn't help the sobs that shook his whole tiny body, the ones rising from his throat. He heard a light knock on the door and raised his bloodshot blue eyes a little to see his best friend in the whole wide world entering the room, a look of pure sympathy on his face, and carrying a container of Kurt's favourite choc-chip cookies.
Kurt sniffled and patted the bed beside him, indicating for Blaine to sit down. Blaine nodded silently and sat down beside him, offering him the cookies but Kurt shook his head – this must have been worse than Blaine thought.
"I heard what happened," Blaine mumbled as Kurt threw his arms around him and cried into his shoulder. Blaine immediately dropped the cookies and wrapped his little arms around Kurt's back, and Kurt relaxed against him, letting his tears flow freely.
He sniffed, "I-I don't understand... How can people be so... so mean...?"
Blaine rubbed soothing circles into his back, shaking his head as he spoke. "I don't know either, Kurt... But... You know you're more than that... You're more than them... Tho-those names they were calling you... They were awful. But you know you're more than that... Right?" He gently lifted Kurt off his shoulder, tilting his chin upwards so he could look at him.
Kurt nodded glumly, his breath still coming out in short, shaky breaths after having cried so hard. "Y-yeah..."
"And you dress better than them..." Blaine offered, attempting to get him to smile again. He liked it when Kurt smiled.
And it worked. He cracked a tiny smile, nodding again as he fell back against Blaine's chest, clutching onto him. "That's true too..." He whispered, loving the way his best friend could soothe him in mere moments. They paused for a moment, both staying silent and letting Kurt calm down from his hysterics, before he sighed softly. "You make my heart feel nice..." He said with a small smile.
Blaine's arms tightened momentarily around him as he also sighed, nodding in agreement. "Mine too."
A/N: It's very short, but please review! I'd love to know what you thought of it. Thank you for reading!
