I haven't been on here in forever, I know, but I've had a horrible writer's block. I just saw Rio and thought it was amazing, so I figured drabbling here might kick-start my inspiration. Enjoy!

It was strange, he reflected, that Rafael was actually right. He did have to feel it.

It was difficult though because of his scientific nature. He had spent the past fifteen years in the company of human's after all; he couldn't help but be more logical about things. And it's not like he'd ever witnessed this kind of emotion. It was just him and Linda….

But as the ocean (and their inevitable doom) came closer and closer, his mind couldn't focus on those morbid thoughts. Instead it rejoiced in her warmth and her…closeness. He thought about her beautiful eyes, her stunning smile, her melodious voice, the stirring inside of him when he watched her fly; his mind was filled with Jewel. And even though the rational side of him screamed that this was stupid, illogical, both of them would die, he found he didn't care all that much because, well, at least they'd be together.

And he told her so too.

And when she kissed him like that his thoughts became hazy so that he couldn't think of anything and his heart started thumping loudly in his chest and everything felt so right. And the feeling was so powerful, enveloped him so completely, that without even thinking about it, his wings rose on either side of him and he flew.

It was the most glorious sensation in the world: the wind rushing in his face, the sun beating down on his back, the swooping of his heart. Or maybe that was because of Jewel.

So he did have to feel it after all. He really should have given Rafael more credit.
