I looked down and all I saw was nothing. It feels like I'm standing in a void. Really? I looked up. Looks like I'm holding on to something for my dear life. But there's nothing down there. What's there to fear? I let go and I finally see it. My death.
Syo woke up in a scramble. His heart was racing, his breathing was labored and he was sweating bullets.
"Damn it." Syo quietly cursed.
He stared into the darkness that surrounded their room. Syo quietly tiptoed towards Natsuki's bed. He longed for the man's warmth and comfort, specially after a nightmare like that.
He didn't want to admit it but he was falling for his roommate, for his childhood friend, for Natsuki. As much as he wants it to happen, it's forbidden, so maybe he'll just settle for what the Academy and the society permits. They'll stay as friends and when the time comes, he'll probably; most likely, confess his feelings towards the said man.
But for now,
Syo picked up Natsuki's glasses and gently settled it where it was supposed to belong. No matter how gentle Syo thought he was, the action still woke up Natsuki.
"Syo-chan?" Natsuki asked, groggily.
"Can I stay with you?" Syo asked, so unlike him.
Natsuki smiled like it was the most normal thing in the world.
Without a word, Syo clambered into Natsuki's bed.
"Can I hold your hand?"
There was a slight blush in Syo's cheeks.
"Why are you even asking that?" Natsuki giggled.
Natsuki intertwined their fingers. Like puzzle pieces, they fit each other perfectly.
And suddenly, everything was calm. Syo's breathing slowed down into a slumber, his heartbeat finally calmed down.
Natsuki smiled at the boy, buried his nose in Syo's hair.
"I love you, Syo-chan."
It's the same dream. There's nothing below me, but I'm holding onto something for my dear life. Should I let go?
"Syo-chan!"
I know this voice. It's the voice that put me in this position. I should hate this person, right?
NO!
I don't hate this person. Even if he forces me to eat those weapons of mass destruction in a form of a cookie. Even if he forces me into those embarrassing costumes. I can't hate him. I just can't.
I love this person. I love Natsuki.
"Natsuki! I'm down here!"
I feel someone grab my hand. A wave of relief crashed down on my whole existence.
Suddenly, the void turned into a meadow. No matter how cheesy it might look, I actually liked it.
He's still holding on to my hand. He should've let go already, I'm safe.
"Natsukiā¦"
"Syo-chan!"
I smile.
"Syo-chan?"
Syo flutters his eyes open, quite adorably.
"What?"
No matter how much he tried to sound irritated, Natsuki still smiled.
"Are you okay?"
There it is again, the blush.
"Of course! Why are you even asking that?"
"Was it a good dream?"
This time it was Syo that smiled.
"Syo-chan, you're so cute!"
Natsuki glomped him like the usual, but this time he couldn't fight the smile, the blush or the feelings.
