Hey everyone :) this is a Jace/Alec fanfic cause there's like… none out there. :P I was listening to Stormy by Hedley today and this turned up … hope you like it :)
Jace was sitting on his bed, staring out the window. He watched water droplets fall, splashing onto the glass. Thunder rumbled ahead, and a crash of lightning followed. The blond smiled. As upsetting as the weather was, Jace found a sort of beauty in it. It was beautiful like something broken, like something in a museum, maybe. Jace didn't know. Alec was usually the one paying attention in museums. He chuckled to himself. Alec. Alec, Alec, Alec. Those innocent blue eyes, jet black hair. People often mistook him for a wimp, trying to beat him up. But Alec was strong. Stronger than they thought he was. Shadowhunter skills, yeah.
The door creaked open, startling Jace out of his thoughts. He spun around.
"Hey."
It was Alec. He stood there in a black sweater and black sweatpants. His hair was disheveled in a sort of lovely way, Jace mused. All the black made Alec's eyes look a darkened shade of blue, more beautiful, if that were possible.
Jace smiled. "hey."
Alec blushed lightly. "I-er-" he paused, catching himself. Jace smiled in amusement. Alec was nervous. "I couldn't sleep." Alec finally mumbled, looking at Jace, rubbing his eyes. "Can I stay with you for a bit?"
Jace moved over, making space. "close the door behind you."
Alec smiled gratefully and sat down next to Jace, pulling his knees to his chin. There was a clap of thunder, and Alec flinched slightly. Jace felt a pang of pit towards the boy. Storms like this gave him memories. Memories that he didn't need.
"you alright?" Jace asked quietly, wrapping his arms around Alec.
"no." was the muffled reply. "I'm tired as hell and I can't sleep."
"just close your eyes." Jace murmured, planting a soft kiss on the other boy's cheek. "think about happy things." he paused. "and put your legs down, I can't hug you like this."
Jace felt Alec laugh softly and he lowered his legs. Alec wrapped his arms around himself, leaning into the blonde's touch. "you're warm..." Alec mumbled.
Jace laughed. "is that a compliment?"
"Yes. I love warmth." Alec replied, snuggling into Jace.
"Does that mean you love me?" Jace asked, genuinely curious. They had been dating for a while now, but neither of the boys had brought up the subject of love.
Alec hesitated. Thunder crashed outside, making the boy whimper.
"It's okay," Jace murmured, pulling Alec close to him. "You're safe with me."
"Why are you so nice sometimes?" Alec asked suddenly, breaking the moment of silence. "I mean, you're always so rude."
Jace smirked. "would you rather me rude?"
"No." Alec mumbled, "I would rather you nice."
"so there."
"what?"
"There."
"where?"
"There."
Alec gave him a confused look. "what are you talking about?"
Jace smiled. "listen."
So he did.
"there's no more lightning." Alec observed.
Jace nodded.
They sat in silence for a while, until Alec had to break it. "Should I go?"
Jace's grip tightened on his Parabatai. "No way. Stay with me tonight."
Alec looked up at him. "But what if Isabelle or someone—"
"who cares?" Jace murmured, "then they'll finally know."
Alec sighed. "okay."
So they lay on the bed, Alec curled into Jace, and Jace held Alec close to himself, an unspoken promise to never let go.
"goodnight, Alec." Jace whispered.
"Goodnight."
What the hell just happened there like I don't even. Anyway that sucked probably sorry but I had to get Jalec out of my head so I can get back on Unbreakable (yes, the next chapter is coming!) and actualy publish the next chapter.
So yeah, see ya.
