Author's Note: This takes place in the Paper Mario universe! So, while reading this, imagine the Paper Mario world and everything. :)
Peaches for Peach!
"Hey, bro?" Luigi questioned his older brother as he entered their kitchen in the house that they shared. He was peering over at Mario who was sitting at the kitchen table, a bowl full of peaches in front of him. "Are you going to eat all of those?" He questioned him.
The red plumber shook his head.
"Then who are they for?" Luigi wanted to know.
Mario told him that it was for Peach. Luigi started smiling after hearing that and he chuckled knowingly. "So, those are for Peach, huh? What're you gonna do? You gonna go on a date with her or something?"
Mario gave him a look.
"Don't deny it!" Luigi teased, wagging a finger at him. "I know it's true!"
Mario still stared at him.
Luigi continued to grin.
Mario rolled his eyes and grabbed the bowl of fruit, quickly leaving his home to go to the Mushroom Kingdom to deliver the peaches to Princess Peach.
When the red hero finally reached the Mushroom Kingdom he was greeted by Toads and whatnot. Mario explained that he wanted to see Princess Peach and they allowed him to do so.
"Mario! What a splendid surprise!" Peach chirped like a bird on a beautiful morning after viewing him. Her eyes were wide with shock and she was sitting down at a table, enjoying some cakes and tea. "Take a seat!"
Mario walked over and sat down across from her, setting down the bowl of peaches on the table. He gave her a smile, which Peach returned gladly.
"What brings you here?" The pink princess asked, curiosity coloring her tone.
Mario took in a deep breath before letting it out. He was going to go through with this, displaying his feelings for the princess. Mario just had to do it. He knew he could. The red plumber wasn't going to be like his younger brother and cower about.
The plumber explained to the princess that he had brought her a bowl of peaches for her as a gift. Peach was immensely delighted by Mario's act of kindness and immediately started devouring the sweet peaches.
"Thank you, Mario! This was so sweet of you!" Peach gushed, her mouth full of scrumptious peaches.
Mario only smiled.
Then, when Peach was through with her fruit, she sighed softly and peered at Mario thoughtfully. "Why did you bring me peaches, Mario? Was it just a gift?" She asked, knowing that there must be something more to it.
Mario swallowed hard before conveying to her that he wanted to engage in a relationship with her, if possible. He told her that he really liked her and all that mushy stuff. Peach listened intently the entire time, eyes getting bigger and bigger with each and every word.
"Is that…true?" Peach asked after Mario was through with his long and loving explanation.
Mario quickly nodded.
"I don't know what to say…" Peach trailed, heart pounding.
The plumber got up from his seat and walked around the table. He took Peach's hands in his own and then pulled her into a warm embrace. Peach instantly returned it, smiling happily.
Of course, she accepted Mario's proposal to engage in a relationship with him! Why wouldn't she?
