Merlin laughed breathlessly as she rode. Her raven hair was streaming out behind her as she pulled ahead of the Knights.
Merlin started slowing down and had stopped by the time the Knights had made it to the goal.
Arthur looked grumpy because he had come last. Merlin laughed at his expression before dismounting.
The Knights dismounted and Leon led the horses to the trees. Together, he and Merlin tied them up.
Merlin grabbed cooking supplies off her horse and started to set up a fire whilst the Knights grabbed their crossbows.
The Knights spread out and left the clearing to hunt.
Leon's POV
Leon aimed his crossbow. He lined it up so it was level with the old buck in front of him.
He squeezed the trigger, but a scream made him miss by yards.
Leon was already on his feet and running when he heard heavy footsteps thudding to his right. A quick glance showed Percival was closing in on his right.
Leon poured on the speed. His heart was racing in fear because only one person could have made that scream. Merlin.
He burst through the trees. Five bandits were in a circle around Merlin. They all had swords drawn and aimed at her chest. She was still clutching her bedroll.
Leon and Percival drew their swords as Arthur and the other Knights ran into the clearing.
One bandit grabbed Merlin and put a blade to her neck.
"One move and I'll slit her throat!" He cried.
The Knights froze. Ever-so slowly Merlin reached her hand into her bedroll.
"Swords on the ground!" The bandit demanded. Slowly, the Knights complied.
Merlin started drawing her hand out of the bedroll. She motioned to the Knights' swords with her eyes. She tapped her toe three times.
Leon counted in his head, 'one...two...THREE!'
He dived for his sword at the same time as the other Knights. Merlin yanked a large dagger out of her bedroll and slammed the hilt into the forehead of the bandit holding her. He stumbled backwards, releasing Merlin.
The Knights took out the five bandits easily.
Merlin grinned at the Knights, "Thanks for coming"
Gwaine reached over and ruffled her hair, "You're like our little sister Merlin. Of course we're going to protect you"
Merlin smirked slightly, "My Knights in shining armour"
Gwaine mock bowed to her, "At your service milady"
Leon wrapped his arms around Merlin and hugged her, "Anything for you Mer" she blushed slightly and Gwaine pretended to swoon. She swiped at him laughing.
Arthur threw a dead rabbit at her, "How about some food Merlin?" She glared at him.
"Ruined the moment prat" she said but sat down next to the fire.
