Princess Zelda was just walking around the village. It was best she went incognito on these trips; otherwise her father was sure to find out about what she was doing! And in royalty, sneaking out was frowned upon. However, her father was the least of her problems….
"Hey, what do we have here?"
"Give it back!"
It was a boy, about her age. He was being picked on by the shopkeepers. It was clear he didn't have money, but Zelda could sense he was a pure soul. He probably didn't want anyone taking the precious stone.
"You little thief!"
"ENOUGH! I'll pay for the food." It was clear that that was the right thing to do. And the poor boy felt extremely embarrassed, she could tell.
"Um…..thanks….I'm really sorry…..By the way, my name is Link!"
Few people would've been mad, but not Zelda. She smiled and asked:
"Um, is that stone important to you, Link?"
"Well, I have to give it to the Princess of Hyrule. The Deku Tree…..he told…me to before he died…" He started holding back tears.
Zelda couldn't blame him. If she had lost someone important to her…..still…..she was certain that her search was over. The one who would become a true hero was right here with her, and crying. What tender feelings he must have!
"Come with me. I'll take you to Princess Zelda. She will understand your situation!"
"Really? You know her? Is she nice?"
"I'm positive….." That nothing like this will happen to you, not while I'm around! The princess thought as she led Link away into the castle.
