Spring was usually the most clammiest season in the village. Babies were being born, the farmers had their crops, and little Rin got to escape from her duties to be with her Lord. During the winter Rin usually had to stay inside like the rest of the humans, even though she had lasted a few good winters on her own, so that meant no visits from Sesshomaru. Which was quite upsetting in her book.
The dark haired child ran through the freshly bloomed flowers towards their usually meet up spot. She had a small jump in her step as she couldn't wait to see her Lord once again. Once the young child got to the spot, she gave a excited giggle as she waved at the figure in the distance.
"Lord Sesshomaru! Lord Sesshomaru!" The child said with the brightest of smiles as she made her way towards the figure. "It has been many moons since I last seen you My Lord! I hope your travels went well!" Rin stopped after losing her breath, placing her hands on her covered knees, she began to pant. "F-For I hav-have been well."
Rin was on time as usual, he noted. He smelt her from a distance, but seeing the child was different. Rin was taller, a bit older looking. Her black hair was in her face and she panted, clearly tired from sprinting to see him. It was flattering, quite frankly. Sesshomaru wasn't sure how he gotten the human to admire him, but their friendship was important nevertheless.
"My travels have gone well," he assured her , "I've been very busy." Sesshomaru said with his normal stone face. "Was winter alright?"
Demons weren't exactly fond of grouping inside together for months, so winter was strange to him. Rin was strong, but she listened to her elders and stayed in the village. This living with humans business was actually quite beneficial. Her nutrition seemed better cared for, and she had colour in her cheeks. Even if he missed his little companion, it was for her sake.
Rin had grown a bit in the past two years. Slowly trading her child features for her soon to be teenage looks. It was almost like seeing a deer give up its spots for antlers. Sesshomaru had found the girl when she was only eight, now she was on the verge of becoming fourteen. Sooner or later she would be a grown woman, but that was later on.
The girl looked up at her Lord with those big brown eyes and gave a smile. Oh she had stories upon stories to tell. The child couldn't think of what she wanted to tell him first. So she tried to say it all at once which came out something that sounded like, "TODAYISAWAFLOWERFKDALJIPLAYINGINTHELAKENEARTHESJ" Though she stopped and decided to let her Lord go first.
"Do you have any stories of the winter for me today?" Rin gave a small smile to make up for her random outburst.
Sesshomaru stared at the young girl before closing his eyes then taking a seat in the soft green grass. Rin quickly joined him and crossed her legs, placing her little hands on her knees. Slowly dipping into his stories like sweet liquid. This was the life, just her and her Lord talking up nonsense. It just made the world peaceful.
Though did little Rin know, that this would be the last time she saw her Lord.
