AN: According to several polls, over 80% of Americans had friendships end because of the election. I find that mind-numbingly depressing. Luckily, I found a video of the Fiftieth Anniversary of the meeting of Benny and Bjorn of ABBA, where Agnetha and Anni-Frid sang to them - thus ending the bitterness among them after 35 years. Let us remember why they were our friends in the first place. Oh, and I did refer to my last fic.
The Way Old Friends Do
In the iCarly studio, Carly Shay and Sam Puckett nodded at each other and picked up their microphones. Behind them, Freddie Benson checked his keyboard, Wendy Benson checked her treble guitar, Melanie Puckett checked her bass guitar, and Gibby Gibson checked the drum set. In front of them, Spencer Shay fixed the camera sights.
There was a sudden "POP" that echoed throughout the studio, which momentarily shook everyone.
After they all recovered and had a brief chuckle, Carly and Sam turned to face Spencer and the camera. They smiled while the other settled into their chairs.
Carly spoke first. "Hi, internet, and welcome back to iCarly. Yes, we are back in Seattle again and back in the iCarly studio."
Sam then added, "Because we are going to college – yes, even me – we will not be on frequently, but we will make episodes every now and then."
Carly picked up from there. "So, let's remember why we started in the first place."
Sam interjected, "The REAL reason, rather than what we thought of Briggs."
The six of them shared a light chuckle before readying themselves. Freddie began the introduction on his keyboard before Carly and Sam began to sing.
Carly
You and I can share the silence;
Finding comfort together
The way old friends do.
Sam
And after fights and words of violence,
We make up with each other
The way old friends do.
Carly and Sam
Times of joy, and times of sorrow:
We will always see it through.
Oh, I don't care what comes tomorrow
We can face it together
The way old friends do.
Carly and Sam, backed by everyone else
You and I can share the silence;
Finding comfort together
The way old friends do.
And after fights and words of violence
We make up with each other
The way old friends do.
Times of joy and times of sorrow:
We will always see it through.
Oh, I don't care what comes tomorrow;
We can face it together
The way old friends do.
We can face it together
The way old friends do.
Carly, Sam, Melanie, Wendy, Freddie, and Gibby stood up and bowed.
