-1Obsession by ShortStuff10
An obsession. That's all anyone could call it. He obsessed over her, night and day. All of his thoughts were about her. But she didn't know it.
It's not like he wanted her to know either. That would cause a major mess. Plus that would cause quite a few people to be mad at him. OK, more than quite a few. Basically about half of the school.
But then he could have a reason to watch her without getting caught. He would always watch her. During class…during meals…during anything.
He couldn't help it. Something about her was immensely intriguing. And oh yes, was she pretty. More than pretty. Gorgeous, actually. It was just everything about her. Everything made him obsess. He couldn't help it. And he didn't want to stop either.
Then one day as she left dinner, he watched her more intently than usual. Complaining of a stomachache, he left the hall, and quietly followed her.
As she made her way up the stairs, he was planning exactly what he wanted to do. Not that he really knew or anything. She kept climbing up the stairs, and he soon realized that she was heading for the astronomy tower.
When she finally reached her destination, he hid behind a tapestry, not yet wanting her to know he was there. He waited for what seemed like an eternity, then came out from behind the tapestry, and slowly opened the door.
The air was light and breezy, a perfect spring night. He saw her standing near the edge of the wall, leaning up against the ledge. Her hair was blowing in the breeze, to him, she looked positively angelic.
"Hi, Harry. I'll be down in a second. Just give me a moment." She breathed in slowly, smelling the sweet scent of flowers that hung in the air.
He was still waiting by the door, suddenly closing it with a loud BAM. She turned around. At first, she looked surprised, then her features darkened.
"What are you doing here? Why in Merlin's beard did you follow me?" she asked, eyes gleaming with malice. "You are the one who always said I was worthless and a-"
"You were never worthless," he cut her off. "Far from it. And contrary to the popular belief, I don't hate you," he breathed in sharply. "I know so much more about you than you could possibly imagine. I'll admit it, I'm crazy. But I'm also crazy about you."
He stepped closer to her. She stood there, frozen to her ground. He stroked her cheek, and then ran his fingers though her hair.
"I'm crazy about your hair, your eyes, your nose, your ears, your neck. Every single little feature makes me go insane. How I've wanted to tell you for so long. To see your reaction. To hear you speak to me again."
He moved away from her and looked up to the vast night sky. "You're my obsession."
"Obsessions aren't healthy, Malfoy," she said.
"I know," he said with a smirk gracing his lips. "but they can be the start of some things." He gave her one last glance, then walked out, leaving alone Hermione Granger… his obsession.
END
So did you like it? I'm sorry that I keep writing one-shots, but I'm having major writer's block. I don't have much time lately because I'm in my school's musical, and that takes up ALL of my time. I WILL try and update DSOM as soon as I can!
