The skies were relatively clear today with an occasional poof of cloud somewhere. The sunlight was strong, warding away the sporadic cool breeze.

Taking a quick shower, I brushed my teeth and pulled on my outfit for the day. I pulled on a pair of dark jeans that fit rather snuggly at my hips and thighs, flaring out past my knees and a black graphic t-shirt with bright light blue designs on the left half. My raven hair fanned out around me. It had grown in the last six months, almost reaching the small of my back.

Wandering back to my bathroom, I applied some light black eyeliner, brightening my dark green eyes, and sprayed on my Victoria Secret's body spray. I slipped some money, keys, and my cell phone into my jean pockets and pulled on a pair of black sneakers. Another glance at the sky and I decided to grab a hoodie as well.

My eyes fell on the dark grey hoodie that rested on the back of my chair for the past year. Old memories surfaced whenever my gaze wandered to it. With a small smile, I carefully slipped it on. Expectedly, it was slightly big on me considering it was a men's hoodie. Zipping it up an inch or two, I took a quick look in the mirror. Not bad.

"Shit."

I was going to be late if I didn't leave now. With another quick look at my door length mirror, I dashed out the door and out of the house.

Somehow, I managed to jog all the way to where the street tennis courts were without breaking a sweat. I took a glance at the time on my cell phone. 13:58. I sighed, taking note that I wasn't late. I took a small glance around, my gaze falling on a familiar face.

Standing by where bicycles were normally locked around to prevent theft was a childhood friend of mine, Fuji Yuuta. Graced with the same light brown hair as his older brother Syuusuke, Yuuta had grey steel eyes in place of Syuusuke's blue.

I jogged over to where he stood.

"Suman. Am I late?" I asked, brushing my hair over my shoulder. Yuuta shook his head, the frustrated look on his face now replaced with a small smile. "Iie. I just got here myself."

I grinned. I always thought Yuuta had a nice smile though I wish he didn't scowl and glare all the time. He was dressed in a simple dark blue graphic t-shirt and a pair of dark jeans, a nice change from his usual St. Rudolph's uniform.

"I'm surprised you didn't wear your St. Rudolph uniform," I teased him, earning a small scowl.

"I don't wear it all the time," Yuuta protested weakly. He was rubbing the back of his neck.

I tugged on his arm a little. "C'mon, I'm hungry. You can fill me in about school while we eat hmm?" Yuuta awkwardly smiled at me before allowing me to drag him to a nearby restaurant.

"Did that really happen?"

Yuuta grinned and nodded. "Yeah, it did. Every time Mizuki-san would try to talk to Aniki, Aniki would just brush him off. It's actually very entertaining to watch."

I giggled. "I have got to see that. I'm sure Syuusuke'll indulge me." I took another sip from my Pepsi. Yuuta and I had finished our food moments ago and were just sitting around to let our bodies get used to the food. We fell into a comfortable silence.

"So you still have my hoodie," Yuuta pointed out casually. There was a sly grin on his face. I rolled my eyes at his comment, only to bury myself even further into the warm hoodie. "Of course I still have it and no, you're not getting it back," I replied, sticking my tongue playfully at him.

"Right." There was a strange light to his eyes. He seems really content.

"Thank you for your patronage. Please come again," a waitress murmured politely as she set down the check. I reached for it, only to have it snatched up by Yuuta.

"Yuuta, what are you-"

"I got it. Don't worry."

I frowned as the brunette began to pull money out. "But Yuuta, I-"

There was it was again. His rather infamous glare.

"Would you just let me pay for you Harumi?"

I sank in my seat, silent as Yuuta finished pulling money out and set it on top of the check. I could've paid for myself.

"C'mon."

I looked up and saw Yuuta's hand by my face. He had already risen from his seat. With a small smile, I took his offered hand and got up. He wasn't angry anymore.

It felt nice to hold Yuuta's hand. They weren't as calloused as I thought they would be from the strenuous hours of tennis practice. We walked down a couple of streets, admiring some of the crafts and items in store windows and quietly laughing at some of the people on the street for something ridiculously trivial. I wonder if Yuuta even realize he was still holding my hand.

"Oi! Yuuta!"

The brunette visibly cringed before turning towards the voice. Three boys walked up to us. One had short black hair with a crimson ribbon around his forehead. There was something familiar about him. The other, probably the one who called out to Yuuta, had light brown hair, not as light as Yuuta's, and it had this weird curl at the end. He struck me as a type of boy that would be in street gangs. The third one was curling around his finger a lock of his dark hair with an amused expression.

"Yuuta-kun, aren't you going to introduce us?" the third asked slyly. I didn't like the feeling I got from him. Yuuta sighed in polite annoyance before starting the introductions.

"Haru, this is Kisarazu Atsushi," Yuuta started, gesturing to the one with the crimson ribbon, "And that's Yanagisawa Shinya." The gang looking boy waved. "And this is Mizuki Hajime. Guys, this is Minamoto Harumi."

I was wondering why Kisarazu looked familiar. "You're Ryou-kun's brother, aren't you?" I asked hesitantly. Surprise was etched on his face. "Aa. You know my older brother?"

I nodded with a smile. "I met him on a trip to Chiba."

"So are you Yuuta-kun's girlfriend?" the one called Mizuki asked coyly. I promptly ignored him and pointed a little at Yanagisawa. "Oh, and you're that tennis player who got knocked out by Momo-chan's Dunk Smash." The duck looking man paled and muttered something under his breath.

I glanced up at Yuuta who seemed to be trying his best not to laugh.

Speak of the devil. My cell phone started to vibrate so I pulled my hand out of Yuuta's so I can actually get to it. I took one look at the caller ID and grinned, quickly flipping my phone open. "Syuusuke. Perfect timing."

The tensai laughed. "What did I stumble upon Harumi?"

I reached for Yuuta's hand with my opposite hand as I smiled up at Yuuta. "Nothing much. I'm just spending some time with Yuuta and his team mates, Yanagisawa-san, Kisarazu-san and…sumimasen, what's your name again?"

I was trying very hard to keep a straight face. Atsushi and Yanagisawa snickered behind their team mate's back.

"Mizuki Haji-"

"And Misashi-san."

Syuusuke chuckled on the line. "Will you be by later?"

"Mochiron. Would you like to speak to Yuuta?" At the suggestion, the boy whose hand I was holding tensed. He began to glare at the ground.

"May I?" Syuusuke sounded hopeful.

I held the phone in front for Yuuta who just looked at it like it was something disgusting. "Be nice," I hissed softly. The younger Fuji brother sighed and took the phone. "Hey Aniki…"

Dropping my hand, Yuuta walked over to the side to talk to his brother. "Gomen, were we interrupting something?" Kisarazu asked. I shook my head. "Yuuta and I were just catching up."

Before Mizuki managed to input another word, Yuuta walked back with a sour expression. Handing me the phone, he stuffed his hands in his pockets. He was irritated all right. "Uh…I guess we'll leave you to it. It was nice meeting you Aizawa-san," Kisarazu quickly said after one look at Yuuta's expression. Despite the protests of his team mates, he dragged them both away.

I glanced hesitantly at Yuuta.

"You know he worries about you," I quietly said. The angry expression on his face hadn't left.

"I know you absolutely HATE being referred to as Fuji's little brother," Yuuta winced, "But you are his little brother. So what if he's a tensai? Who the hell cares if people keep calling you Fuji's little brother?" Yuuta winced again.

I threw my hands up in frustration. "If you hate it so much, step out of his shadow. Show people that you are Fuji Yuuta. You think this only affects you? Syuusuke's hurting too!"

"You don't understand! I hear it all the time! Fuji's little brother! They're always comparing me to him! It's not my fault I'm not a tensai! All everybody saw was Aniki! Nobody sees me! It's like I don't exist. I'm only Fuji's little brother!"

I stared at Yuuta. He had never shouted at me before. He was absolutely seething mad, which definitely did not help my own anger issues. Out of pure anger, I stripped off his hoodie and threw it at his face. "So what if Syuusuke's a tensai? Don't you think it hurts him that you seem to hate him because of your ridiculous complex. Syuusuke's always worrying about you since you left for St. Rudolph," I snarled, "And for the record, I liked you cause you were Yuuta and I could've cared less if you had a tensai Aniki."

Before he could utter another word, I ran off. I didn't know how long I was running for but at the end of it, I ended up at a deserted playground. I gasped, trying to catch my breath and collapsed on one of the leather swings.

Breathe in.

Breathe out.

I tried to hold tears back. I never screamed at Yuuta like that. What was I thinking? I knew how sensitive he was about being called Fuji's little brother.

To be honest, I really like Yuuta, so much. He was just awkward and it was so adorable when he would pretend to be tough. I guess that being compared to his brother for so long hindered his ability to socialize with people who were familiar with Fuji Syuusuke.

I sighed. Just as I entertained the thought that Yuuta might hate me forever, my jeans began to vibrate again. I pulled out my phone, glancing at the caller ID. Yuuta was calling me. I hung up the call before it continued to ring. Even though I was scared he didn't want to have anything to do with me anymore, I didn't want to deal with him right now.

I lost track of how long I sat there but the sun had just fallen below the horizon. I trembled a little. The temperature had definitely dropped and the breezes were picking up. I sighed once more. Maybe I should head home.

"Do you know how long it took to find you?! Why didn't you answer any of my calls?!"

I froze at the voice and slowly looked up. Yuuta was absolutely panting and beads of sweat clung to his neck. Tearing my gaze away, I kicked the sand a little, inevitably swinging myself a little.

A heavy hoodie fell on my shoulders. I shuddered at the warmth emanating from it. Suddenly, I was pulled to my feet and Yuuta began to fumble with the hoodie, shifting it so it wrapped around me tightly.

"What were you thinking sitting out here like this? You could've gotten sick," Yuuta rambled, pulling the hoodie closer to my neck so ward off the cold.

"Gomen."

He froze in his ministrations. He frowned a little before pulling me into his arms.

"No, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have…yelled at you like that," he muttered under his breath.

I laughed softly. "So we're both sorry?"

He smiled down at me in that awkward manner that was just pure Yuuta. "Yeah."

I smiled back, and wrapped my arms around his neck. I breathe in his scent, pressing my cold nose against his warm neck. Yuuta held me tighter. I scrunched up my face, pulling away from him a little.

"Aren't you cold?" I asked, glancing at his bare arms. He just shook his head. "Ne, Yuuta, I'm curious…"

The brunette raised an eyebrow. I grinned at the fact I was still in his arms. Rather bold for someone so awkward. "Mizuki called me your girlfriend."

At the word girlfriend, his face immediately flushed. I grinned and continued to say, "And you didn't tell him I wasn't. Is there something you want to tell me Yuu-chan?"

Yuuta groaned softly, looking away and turning red from embarrassment. "Harumi…" he groaned in an attempt to stop me from continuing.

"Yuu-chan…" I murmured, trying to coax him into confessing.

With an aggravated sigh, he glared at me. I think he knew full well that I know that he harbored certain feelings for me. I also think he knew I harbored certain feelings for him too.

"You already know…" he muttered. I smirked.

"But it's nice to hear. Please?"

The boy sighed. He had that "Why-do-I-even-bother" expression on. "I…I really…l-like you, Harumi." Yuuta immediately groaned in embarrassment as I giggled. That was so cute. As a reward for his…brave act, I leaned up and kissed his cheek.

Yuuta stared at me frozen.

I just smiled and tugged him in the direction of his home. "C'mon. Syuusuke'll wonder what's taking us so long," I reminded him.

By the time we got to the Fuji household, we were already half an hour late. I rung the doorbell since Yuuta refused to do it. Seconds later, the door opened revealing a smiling Syuusuke. "I was beginning to think you two weren't coming," he said, Syuusuke's gaze falling down to where Yuuta's hand and mine were intertwine. A knowing smile replaced his usual one as he beckoned us inside.

I took one look at Yuuta and barely held in my chuckles. He was red as a tomato.

Dinner was amazing as usual. Yumiko, Yuuta and Syuusuke's older sister, had made it. After the wonderful dinner, we were just sitting around the dining room table, talking.

"Oh, Nee-san, you were right again on that prediction." Syuusuke was smiling smiling, not pleasantly smiling.

"Ara? Is that right?" the pretty brunette asked, turning her gaze on Yuuta. He flustered a little.

I tilted my head in confusion. "You made a prediction, Yumiko-san?"

"Hai. I predicted that Yuu-chan will finally tell you he likes you, even though it was pretty obvious…"

"Nee-san!"

I laughed softly, trying not to say something that would fluster the boy any more. He seemed to get enough playful teasing. Before I knew it, Yuuta rose to his feet and stomped up to his room on the second floor.

"Maa, I think we made Yuuta mad, Nee-san," Syuusuke said airily, glancing at the stairs. I rolled my eyes. "Yuuta always gets mad."

Yumiko chuckled before rising to her feet as well. "Syuusuke, help me with the dishes?"

She shot me a wink and I giggled, catching her meaning. Syuusuke and her began to gather the plates, insisting that as hosts, they'd do it. I finally relented and wandered upstairs to Yuuta's room.

Knocking once, I waited for a moment before entering. Yuuta was lying on his bed, eagle spread and his eyes were closed. I knew better than to assume he was sleeping. Closing the door behind me, I took a seat on his chair by the desk, swirling myself around.

"Harumi…"

I looked up. Yuuta's eyes were still closed but he was motioning me to go over to him. Adjusting the hoodie, I gingerly sat down on the space Yuuta made for me in his little twin sized bed.

"Are you mad Yuuta?"

He finally opened his steel grey eyes, glaring at the ceiling. His eyes softened for a moment. "No I'm not. I just can't believe Nee-san said something like that, in front of you no less," Yuuta whined quietly in embarrassment. I laughed once more before resting my hand on his. "They don't mean anything spiteful by it. You know that," I said.

"I know."

He curled his fingers around my own. "Harumi?"

I tilted my head at him. "Nani kai yo?"

Yuuta stayed silent for a moment before sitting up. He leaned over, resting his head against mine. "You know…I won't be able to visit for a while. Mizuki has us doing tennis practice and regimens and stuff," the brunette told me softly. I just patted his hand. "It's fine. I know how busy you are."

Yuuta frowned. "I'll drop by St. Rudolph's when I can," I added. That seemed to perk him up for a moment. "Harumi, I don't want you coming all the way to the school just to see me," he whined softly.

I rolled my eyes. "We'll work something out. No worries Yuuta." He sighed but silently agreed. I grinned and kissed his cheek once more. He instantly became flustered. It just made me laugh as I hugged him. I was just glad to have Yuuta in my life. I closed my eyes and savored the feeling of Yuuta holding me.
