So this is my first story on fanfiction...hope people like it. It's not in my usual writing style, so I'm not really sure how it turned out. Any feed back would be amazing.

Hopefully more Tonks/Remus stories to come...

She shivered at the cool air against her back, but still slept on. The alarm clock sat beside the bed on its little table, regularly casting a red tint onto her face as it flashes 12:00. This clock has no alarm; the cord to the other (dark, dead) clock behind it hangs limply, the plug lying close to the electrical socket, the way it has been for days since he pulled it out. The alarm from the previous morning's shift had gone off while they were still curled together, half asleep. He had meant to turn it off, but, half-blood or not, he never should have tried.

Remus had never been a morning person.

There's still a coffee mug beside the two clocks. It has a dark ring at the bottom that looks rather permanent now. There's a great chip in the handle from when she had dropped it. They had been lying in bed, reading the newspaper like the normalest of couples. Then they had seen the article, and had quickly pulled on their clothes and bolted out the door, abandoning the coffee mug where it lay on the floor, knocked over by the sleeve of her robes.

She scootches closer to the other side of the bed, looking for the warmth of his body.

The pillows smell like him. The first time she realised she swore she'd never wash them again.

Tonks rolls over this time, still trying to get closer to him. She is still asleep. She doesn't realise, not yet.

She still doesn't know that he's gone.
