Star Trek: Zephyr
So you think that all the old Enterprise class (NX) ships were decommissioned?
Think again.
Actually they were all decommissioned, but one has been brought back into service. That ship is the NX-05, namely the Zephyr. She sure has spent some time in the shipyards and is quite out of date compared to some of Starfleet's newer ships.
The engineering crews are working around the clock trying to get everything shipshape, which is going to be a long task anyway. The Chief Engineer, a James Midnight, give me the latest report about an hour ago, things are starting to get good but generally they are quite bad. I pretty much doubt that we'll meet Starfleet's deadline, 'for some top-secret mission' or so I am told.
The only good thing is that we have the latest shields, but there are a few minor problems such as integrating them into the ship's power system. Also most of the ship's computer is off line, so that is why I'm writing this down rather than using the computer log which I never liked much anyway.

Captain Stevens placed the journal down on his desk before talking over to the window which faced out over the rest of the space dock, several small space crafts went about they're business. He stood for a moment, wondering about the mission that Starfleet Command had given him. As far as he knew, his ship would be heading into Klingon space.
